car show, scca, triple crown, model t
ok guys
what a great weekend it was. lots of sun and very little wind. no promises for next weekend but hopefully it will be nice again. if you like cars it will be a fantastic two days. the car show is saturday and the national scca road race event is saturday and sunday. some of us plan to trek over to the races after the car show on saturday. hope to see some of you guys here. if you need a place to park your car let me know as i have room for about 4. on a seperate note. as a proud papa, my daughter julie just won all three events-singles, doubles, and mixed at the usta national 30 hard court championships. as for as anyone knows this is the first time that this has happened! i took the model t on its maiden drive yesterday and everything worked! it was without sheet metal so it looked like a speedster. as a reminder i'm restoring it for my dad. talk about being only as old as you think, my dad took it for a spin and even shifted into hi gear! and he's in his early 80's. and its not that easy to drive. three pedals on the floor, clutch,reverse and trans break to stop. emergency break to hold trans in neutral and gas and spark on the steering column. what an experience. come on down for a great weekend. paul |
