Great turnout in Houston
We had an awesome turn out for the Houston May meet. 13 cars showed up and we ate lunch, talked Cobras and watched the cool boats pass while sitting on the deck at the Sundance grill which is right on the water. We had Superformance, Factory Five, Everett-Morrision, LoneStar, West Coast, and NAF cars at this meet. We even had one "unknown" brand.
We talked a little about the upcoming Combo meet with Austin and it looks like we should have at least 8 cars headed toward Fayettville. Look forward to seeing all you Austin guys...rain or shine. Paul R, brought a video tape of the first DV event....yes we Houston members travel with a vcr and tv in our cars.... and handed out some details of the event. looks like at least 5 people from the Houston area plan to make the trek up for this years event. Bill P, told us of a cool track event that the FFR club is putting on and some of us non FFR guys plan to get in on that party as well. Here are a couple of pictures of the event. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...10-02a-med.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...10-02b-med.jpg |
Y'know I keep wondering -- just where do you guys meet in Houston? Has to be somewhere outside of the city, right? No offense to Houstonites, but the traffic out there is a nightmare! [ Images of proverbial cat in a room full of rocking chairs comes to mind. ] Ack!!!!
So seriously, in what part of Houston do you guys meet? |
We meet all over the city. Traffic is really not a big deal. I have been in worse traffice in Austin than I usually see in Houston. Maybe it just seemed that way since I was in my Cobra going zero mph on I-35 and it was raining.:p
Traffic can get bad but it's like anything else, you get use to it. |
