Ed.........

you are right, however out of 57 votes, 23 are for February, or 40.4%. There is no other month with as many votes. Next closest is April with 19 out of 57, or 33.3%.

So what is your point?

Vote Early...

Come on gang, vote early and vote often. The Chicago way....We need to nip this thing quickly so we can lock down hotels and try and get a few other ideas in the hopper sooner.

Too many choices give improper results. Give less choices and you'll see Ed's point. Most people when added together don't want Feb.

Dennis Mosley 03-04-2003 09:52 PM

Drew,

What would you think of the idea of just adding another event in the year as some have suggested. Maybe have an event in Big D in April or May or something like that.

Clearly there are pros and cons to any date we pick but that way we could do the Feb. meet as the first big event of the year and then the Dallas guys can show us how it done in North Texas during the april or may meet. That way it gives us another event and it might even build some interest in following you guys to Tulsa. We might even be able to find out where the hell Mesquite, Texas is:LOL:  (sorry Mr. Morris)

First Quarter Austin (big event)
Second Quarter Dallas (maybe alternate Houston&Dallas)
Third Quarter SA or Houston (prob SA..too damn hot in H-town in the summer)
Forth Quarter Paul's event in Corpus

Tom, Tom, Tom

I'm always bumping my head on my FFR lift jacks.

It all depends on how you look at it. The glass is half full or half empty. Like I was trying to tell you and Dennis several weeks ago, I've been asked this question many times by alot of members and friends. Please don't shoot the messenger. This poll speaks for it self.

I for one really don't care which month we meet because I will attend the annual spring meet rain or shine, cold or hot, and with or without my FFR like I do every month here in Austin. I enjoy the TCC fellowship and that's what counts. :3DSMILE:

Ed

If's it the Austin Group, I don't understand, it's in their back yard, they don't have to travel! I wish that whom ever it is would speak up, now's their chance.

My question to you is how did you draw the conclusion that the majority want's to move the meeting.
Maybe we need just two months to vote on, but then!
My concern is that if we do end up moving our date, we're going to lose some people! February there isn't a thing going on, we move it, we've got other things to try to schedule around.

Also I'm afaraid that the traffic in will get worse if we move the date, right now we can kinda stay toughter, more traffic will spread us out. More traffic we'll have to shorten the runs. Our saturdays have always turned out beautiful, I know that the Fridays are bad, travel time.

Oh well, lets see what happens.

Love You Guy's

I like Dennis' idea of quarterly meets. Waiting a whole year is too long! I am already in for Austin and Corpus, so two more works well for me. Leave Austin in Feb! It makes a bright spot in an otherwise dull, drab winter!

427Aggie 03-05-2003 07:43 AM

I've tried to stay out of this and just vote what I wanted. Ed. You can add them all together and say hey look 57 people still want the meet. I know several people that have said and many that have posted that they prefer a certain month but will be there no matter what.

This vote was not for I can only come this time it was when would you like it. I personally want it in February...as the months roll on we are already seeing stuff conflict with our SCAT group in Dallas.

Set a date to stop taking votes and live with the majority of votes....just like democracy the majority wins...if you wasted your vote on the perot and the republicans lost then you don't get to add his to the republican ticket to get more votes.

Get the date...move on...lets get this year of car partying started.

Matt, you said something smart again WOW.

Hey Ryan when is the vote over?

We are going to screw this up, I am telling you!

Official Results

I think the vote is sufficient! It stays where it is....

Results
38.71 February
19.35 March
32.26 April
9.68 May

I am laying this to rest until the next president comes along and decides to revisit the subject. I don't think we're having a problem with turnout, and until that becomes a problem, I say we leave it where it is. I think every other month provides scheduling conflicts, and I am not going to be the one to screw it up! :D

427Aggie 03-05-2003 08:54 AM

God I love Aggies :)

Ryan,

Thanks for stepping in and making a decision. Don't think you get the kings slot when he steps down...I am the heir apparent :)

On another note...

On another note, I agree with Dennis. I say we have some large events in other cities as well. We all need to get out a little bit! I think there's still plenty of room for additional events.

There's always going to be someone that can't make it tot the "main" event, and there are always plenty of people that are willing to attend multiple events. So, why not have multiple events?

So, Dallas, start whipping something up for April!:D

Blake Olson 03-05-2003 09:15 AM

We're working on a hillcountry event that we will be hosting over in Boerne. In late april - early may.
