TCC's 1st members

The club started as a dream.
Jay and I would cruise Dallas, thinking that it would be great to get about 4 or 5 of us tougher and cruise, and possibly get a club started, in the Dallas area, just get tougher and share the dream of owning a Cobra!
Then we met Gary Morris, he told Jay about a web site called Club Cobra, Jay told me, I got on the web site, and started posting about a National Get Tougher. Then I noticed that there were clubs in other States. I E-Mailed Bret, and asked that if I could get enough intrest in Texas would he dedicate a Club site for Texas!
I started a Post about starting a Cobra Club in Texas, and a possible get tougher somewhere in the middle of Texas, which was some little town in the middle of no where.
Then came, Stretch, he suggested Austin, he said that he had a great location on top of a parking garage, overlooking a river. Then we picked a date, just pulled a weekend out of the air because of up coming shows and other conflicts. Several other people jumped in and wanted to help.
I got so excited!!
The actual Texas Cobra Club name came out of our first lunch tougher at the Bar B Q place not far from the garage.
Remember, we all voted on the name, so technically, the first Texas Cobra Club member was about 40 of us!!
After we met in Austin I once again E-Mailed Bret and asked for a Texas cite, which he even got excited about!
And The Rest is History!
Man what a ride, these past 4 years have been, the Friends that have been made.
I LOVE YOU GUY"S!!

I really don't remember how I heard about it, maybe it was one of the day trips where I drove from Houston to Dallas just to hang out with some cobra guys (not knowing there was one right down the street...literally).

I too got very excited as I was in the final stages of my build and Paul Risch and I were in the process of starting the Houston Cobra Club. I took off the week before and did non-stop work on my car trying to get it ready and the day before the meet concluded that I just couldn't get it done. I was very disheartened and had decided not to even go to the Austin meet. I'm glad Paul talked me into going anyway.....one of the best things I ever did. I'll never be able to say that I've had my car at every event but I sure plan to make every one. (and the car has been to every meet since it's been finished)

Thanks for the idea guys! IT HAS BEEN A FUN RIDE!!!!

Here's to more to come.

This is a great group of people!...the cars are nice too.:D
