OT - I still need a trailer!

I need something open, inexpensive ~16ft and relatively lightweight. I don't mind a fixer-upper either. I have more free time than free money! I have to find a way to get my car to the SCAT event in a couple of weeks. If I drive it there, you can be assured that no racing will be in my schedule, because I'm not chancing a walk back to S.A. As a matter of fact, I may drive something with A/C up there since it's handy to have this time of year!

Thanks for the leads,
Ryan

Also, if you need a car for your kid or whomever, I have a '98 Jeep Cherokee Sport(red) 4Dr 66k miles for sale...and I am looking for a truck. Whew, does that cover it all. I think so...

P.S. Go autocross, it's fun...and you'll provide a great deal of entertainment to onlookers! Don't ask how I know! :3DSMILE:

Stick with the Cherokee if your going to tow an open trailer. U sed to haul my Mustangs behind my 96 Cherokee Sport on an 18 foot open steel trailer...No problems at all..............

Really, what about trailer brakes, trans cooler, etc...? It does have the 4.0L which has a lot of torque. I've heard mixed opinions on the towing capabilities of the Cherokee. Some say sure, tow it all, others say they won't tow anything with it. I had a 20' catamaran that I used to pull with it all the time, but that was mostly wind resistance, not pure weight! I think 5k is the load rating for it. Well, sounds like it will work temporarily anyway. I still want a truck, but glad to hear that it will work until then. I just miss having a truck too much.

The only items I added was the Air bags for the rear springs. It did not raise the rear, but kept it from getting too bouncy when I had some of my heavier cars on the trailer. My Boss 351 Mustang (4,386lbs) plus the 1,700lb trailer towed quite well (all but the longest and steeprest hills), with the Cobra weighing in at less than 2,300lbs, it was a breeze. When I got the "Trailex" trailer (795lbs), it made it almost like there was no car on the trailer behind my little jeep. Granted, I did have the factory tow package(heavier cooling system), but I saw no reason to have an extra transmission cooler installed....Ask any of the guys I used to tow out to Pocono with, up hills, all but Cranky's F250 diesel had trouble keeping up with me...............
