TONS OF FUN

GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD TIMES, LOTS OF DRIVING, PERFECT WEATHER. BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. DEALERS THAT COULDN'T BE BEATTEN:CRY: ......

DOUG AND HIS STAFF AND FRIENDS PUT ON ONE HECK OF AN EVENT. FORTY SOMETHING CARS FROM FLORIDA TO MISSOURI TO TEXAS. EVEN A RARE BLUE ONE WITH WHITE STRIPES:LOL:

WE ALL ATE, DRANK, PARTIED, GAMBLED AND DROVE UNTIL THE WEE HOURS OF EACH MORNING:JEKYLHYDE

THE POKER RUN WAS A BLAST AND VERY WELL DONE NOT TO MENTION VERY INTERESTING. IT WAS NO SURPRISE THAT KNOWING DOUG AT LEAST ONE OF THE STOPS WAS A DAQUIRI SHOP.

THE AWARDS BANQUET WAS THE TOPS. GREAT PRIZES AND LOTS OF THEM. GOOD SPEAKERS.

THE HIGHLIGHT WAS THE FACT THAT LINDA REED, RONNNIES WIFE, RONNIES DAUGHTER AND HER NEW SON "RONNIE" WERE THERE AND SPENT LOTS OF TIME WITH THEIR EXTENDED FAMILY. QUITE A TRIBUTE TO RONNIE.

THANKS DOUG! FOR ALLOWING SOME X BRANDS CARS:D GREAT EVENT AND HOPE THERE IS ONE NEXT YEAR.

JAY AKA LARRIE (INSIDE JOKE WITH CONNIE AND LINDA)

Dream Master 10-06-2003 07:54 AM

Jay, I know the inside joke. Yesterday they both kept saying "Jay just should be a Larry, he just looks like a Larry". Linda cried and hugged me and said "these people are just the BEST, I want to be at every event I can" Seems the word is getting out, just how much fun this stuff can be with great caring people and great cars. Thanks to everybody for coming and making this a truly memorable event. I had a hard time doing anything Sunday morning with everyone stopping to thank me, and all my help.

I want to thank Don Barnes again. Jeez, what a guy. He loaded up that massive rig and drove 12 hours by himself. Shows up with a rolling party production complete with cases of beer, drinks, coolers, tables, chairs, sound system w/ P.A., 20x40 tent.
What a great guy, THANKS DB, AND Panoz Driving School, Texas Motor Speedway.

Also big thanks to Freddie Rice, Terry Lee, Eric Brown and others??? for organizing our Thursday afternoon cookout. Smoked Memphis ribs, some serious Focasia (sp?) bread with killer veggies, and BBQ beans.......WOW! and Adult beverages, too.

I was too busy to take many Digital stills, (I did manage to get some good video stuff), so If anyone has any good stills, please e-mail me one or tow, or post some. There was a guy, Fred, in the campground that does photography for the NHRA, he caught us as we departed Saturday morning, and he is going to send me a CD. He was blown away by the set up had worked out, combining the shaded parking for our cars with the lagoon and adjacent RV set up for cooking and dining.

Thanks again to all who made it, and to all the sponsors like, Panoz Racing School, Roush Racing, Southern Automotive, RDI, Raceparts Distribution, Inc, Napa Auto Parts, Advantage Auto Parts, Olthoff Racing, and all the others.

Cobra Buddies, As they say in Nawlins a good time was passed by all.

We all laughed, ate, drank, drove, gambled, and partied too much. I had to get back to TMS to get some rest.

The new friends we made and the old friendships we renewed were the best of times. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Linda Reed addressed the group, what an event.

I told Doug to book it for next year, same place until they throw us out. In fact Doug and I have already started talking about driving events for next year.

Such a fine group of people, it is a pleasure to know.

P.S. I invited all the "Snake, Rattle, & Roll" attendees to Austin, and I think a big bunch will show. So Austin boys, remember, bigger in Texas.
Thanks,db

It was an absolutely fantastic event. If you couldn't make it this year, you MUST put it on your To Do list for next year.

Doug, Don, Donald, their wives, family, friends, etc did a great job putting it together. And it looked like they had as much fun doing the hard work as we did cruisin' around.

The weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, the "southern hospitality" was more than you could imagine. And the folks who came in from all over were just as nice as could be considering we weren't driving an SPF. ;)

And Doug's neat little SmartCar was a big draw for the "tourists" as well. As one person put it - "there's a million dollars worth of Cobras in this lot and the one that's drawing all the attention is the little green thing." For those of you who haven't seen one, check out Doug's gallery.

We'll definitely be back next year.
