SPF Up and Running - Thankyou Keith Craft Motorsports
Well after a few minor problems my new SPF is finally up and running. Only need to get my dropped air cleaner finished and I'm good to go!
I had a oil leak that turned out to be a problem with a rear oil galley plug from when the block was cast. Never showed up in the dyno but started after I installed the engine and fired it up the second time. Took it over to Keith Craft Motorsports and they pulled the transmission, bellhousing, clutch and flywheel to discover the problem. They fixed the concern and it's home to night sounding pretty healthy with only 10 miles on it. I have to say that buying a motor from Keith Craft clearly was worth it. Not only do I have a 640 HP motor but they fixed my concern immediately! For you SPF owners pulling the transmission after the motor is in - is something you don't want to do. The transmission cross member is fixed and you really need to pull the whole interior and tunnel out to get the transmission out. At least that's what I thought, but Rob at Keith Craft Motorsports had some niffty tricks on turning the bell housing and lowering the trans that allowed us to leave the interior alone. Thanks Rob and Drew, you guys are the greatest! |
Congrats Gary, I know you don't want to put it on the track at TMS until you get some miles on it, but will you be at the "Eleanor" car show this weekend ?? Later, db

Gary, great to hear that your good to go. Am anxious to see the new baby. Also, just to follow on your comments regarding Keith Craft Motorsports, I had my car in for some work and they really do whatever it takes to please the customer.

Gary Glad to here you got your car on the road? I was wondering how your new car compared with the last one you had with the Big Block 460?
Take care Dan |
Gary,
Congratulations! Be sure to post a picture of that beast-of-an-engine as soon as you can. It'll be interesting to hear you compare/contrast the performance and handling characteristics of the three powertrains you've owned in your SPFs. |
Way to go Gary!!!
Oh Boy,
I can't wait to see/hear this new Bad Boy now that it is in motion! I can just imagine what that MONSTER sounds like! I know the car is gorgeous, but oh, what a motor! John R. |
