Dammit

I POST THIS HERE AND NOT UNDER A STICKY THREAD ON TCC FOR BRENT AND SHERRIE'S TICKETS.

WE HAVE ALMOST 200 REGISTERED MEMBERS IN TCC AND WE HAVE LESS THAN 25 THAT ARE STEPPING UP TO THE BAR ON THE TICKETS.

IF YOU PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE OR KNOW...WHEN TOM, STRETCH AND I STARTED THIS CLUB, IT WOULD NOT BE HERE WITHOUT BRENT AND THIS SITE!

YOU DON'T REALIZE THAT THERE WOULD BE NO SPRING FLING, TEAM JENNY, FRIENDS THAT WE HAVE NOW KNOWN FOR FIVE YEARS, 26 COBRAS AT AER, PAULS CASS'S EVENT, MONTHLY MEETINGS, TEXAS CORNER AT TULSA, NO PROBLEM RACEWAY, ANY WAY TO MAKE FUN WITH MATT...THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON!

SNAKEEYES WOULD NOT BE KNOWN FOR HIS GT40 AND OTHERS, CLAY FUGATE WE WOULDN'T TALK TO ABOUT OUR PHONES, BOUDY WOULD STILL BE A PAIN IN THE BUTT BUT WE WOULDN'T KNOW IT...

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET YOU PEOPLE TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE HERE??????????

BRENT AND SHERRIE ARE GREAT PEOPLE AND WE OWE THEM!!!!

ALSO, IT IS A JOINT DECISION TO HAVE THEM HERE. GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND SEND A CHECK FOR LESS MONEY THAN YOU PAY PER YEAR FOR CAR WAX.

IF THIS MAKES YOU MAD...THINK HOW THE FOUNDERS FEEL KNOWING THIS SITE AND THAT ALL OF THE VOLUNTEER WORK THAT IS BEING DONE FOR THE AUSTIN MEET IS BEING TAKEN FOR GRANTED!

IF YOU ARE PART OF THIS GROUP AND CAN'T AFFORD $20 THEN EMAIL ME AND I WILL PAY THE MONEY FOR YOU WITHOUT A WORD BEING SAID.

THIS IS A FAMILY!!!!!!!!!! AND ABOUT PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! DAMMIT SONEONE DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!

OKAY, I AM BETTER NOW.........

JAY

Jay, do you accept PayPal? Heck, I ain't even from Texas and I'll give $20 to the cause if you accept Paypal. Didn't know Texas folks were that CHEAP. :p :p Now if that won't get some Texas folk off their keesters, I don't know what will.

TC, normally the cheapskate

Cobra #42 12-13-2003 03:12 PM

Jay, I'm with you brother. As a suggestion let's make the $20 a parking permit for the Austin Hill Country Tour. If you pay $20 you can park in the hotel parking lot. Non payers can park on the street in front of the hotel parking lot. Simple enough.

P.S. My rig takes two parking spaces so put me down for another $20.

LOL, db

kountzecobra 12-13-2003 05:05 PM

TC, thank goodness all Texans aren't that cheap, many just need a bit of "Prodding". :3DSMILE: Jay, thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. I met Brent at DVSF last year and he really isn't that bad of a guy!:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

392cobra 12-13-2003 05:31 PM

Maybe a few figures will show what a dismal showing of generousity (sp)(read cheapskates) the Texas Cobra Club has.

The Fund needs about $ 800 total.
There are about 200 members.

THIS IS AS OF 12/11/03

DFW donors 18 $ 400
Houston area 4 $ 85
Memphis,Tn twice $ 50 Richard Price
San Antonio 1 $ 20
Austin area 1 $ 20
Waco area ZERO %/
Corpus Christi area ZERO

Don,that might be a good idea about $ 20 for parking in the hotel parking lot.You would have plenty of room to yourself.

Out 39 Cobras signed up so far, only 19 have donated.
13 of the 19 are from the DFW area.

I would guess there is over $ 1.5 million in Cobras scheduled to attend so far.
Getting $ 800 is worse than pulling teeth.

I donated knowning at that time I wasn't going to be able to attend.

It would be interesting to hear all the bit$@ing if Brent shut this website down.

HOW ABOUT GIVING SOME INSTEAD OF JUST USING & TAKING .

Jay, right on brother. I hope to GOD that B & S aren't reading all this. If I were them and reading this, I would think twice about comming down. It is as if they aren't wanted. They committed to attend because they had fun last time and THOUGHT we wanted them back too. All this BS would make me feel uncomfortable and unwanted.

Austin Zero!

Fix that list! Who do you think "Edward G" is on Tom list? I gave to the cause months ago. So Austin's count should be one (1). :3DSMILE:

Now how about the rest of the Austin bunch stepping up to the plate?

jrussell 12-16-2003 10:00 AM

Hummm, interesting!

Wow,
I an glad some people are finally getting around to kicking in on the deal, but I do see some mis-conceptions stated above. For one, I had been under the assumption for the past five years that the Texas Cobra club was formed at the first event held in Austin and was founded by ALL those in attendance- not just three people! I am aware of a lot of planning that went on in planning that event as I was in attendance at quite a few meetings as were others from the Dallas area that had already formed a group of people with a love of these cars that got together on an informal basis. To say the club was started by three people is a false statement, but that really has no relevance to anything.
What we do need to address is a common fault to most-if not all of us, and that is procrastination! We are all guilty of it somewhere, sometime and this is the root of this issue! Not all people access the internet, some don't read, some don't care, some are selfish, and some mean well but will "do it tomorrow"!
Well, I do remember a very good friend I met about three weeks after I got my car(10-20-1999) who was also a founding member of this club, and since he can no longer attend, I have just written another check to Tom to add to this fund for him, in memory of Dick Flesher! (check # 5462- mailed 12-16-2003)
Now, how about the rest of you procrasting out there, when will YOU pick up your pen for the first time??
John Russell
one of the founding members of the Texas Cobra Club...and proud of it!

Full support of Mr. Russell on all accounts here, as many of us were involved in the begining of this band a merry men/women that like a go-carts with a big motors!!!!!!

Now let's get with it you members that just can't wait for the Austin meet to get here and have yet to contribute to the person who put this great communication site together for us to use at will.........

stuck 12-16-2003 10:01 PM

Yeah and the president sucks the worst...I still haven't got around to it! Wow, those DFW guys got some money!

bittentoo 12-17-2003 07:11 AM

392cobra,

I"m surprised that there are only 4 contributions from the Houston bunch. I don't live in Houston so I am wondering which group you put me in?

Just curious.

Kelly Mullins

392cobra 12-17-2003 07:44 AM

kelly,
I have you in with the Houston area group.
With Sweeney being west of Brazoria & south of Houston and I noticed you attended the Houston December Meet.

If you would like me to put you in with another area I will.Just let me know which one.

I understand if you would rather not be associated with that crowd.:3DSMILE:

Goober 12-18-2003 08:26 AM

I,m a new member and am not sure what the cause is, but give me your address and I will send you a check to help these people out

Mark

bittentoo 12-18-2003 10:07 AM
