HELLO gsharapa

Hello Gary, I assume your name is Gary. I noticed that you have a KEITH CRAFT WINDSOR in your SPF. How streetable is your combination? Have you had any problems getting it tuned? I ordered a motor supposedley close to your combination. It will sport a hydraulic roller cam instesd of solid, also will be using an aluminum block. Will be putting it in a Backdraft Roadster. What clutch combination are you running? I plan on using an aluminum flywheel, should make for a quick revver. Any info greatly appreciated.

DC Cobra,

I installed a KC 418 Stroker w/ hydraulic cam about 8 months ago and it's very street-able and tuned in easily. I'm running a McLeod aluminum fly-wheel w/ McLeod twin disc clutch. The only problem with an excess of over 600HP is the hook-up. I'm currently running Dunlop SP8000 315 ZR17s but at 4500rpm the a$$ end is coming loose. I think Gary's may hook-up a little better with the new BFG drag radials.

Don,

I have a Superformance with KC 427 stroker. Solid Roller cam, Fully CNC Brodix Trac II heads, Ford 351 W Racing block with 4 bolt mains, D & D shaft mount roller rockers and the works. Motor dynoed at 638 HP and is very streetable. Running a 950 Davinci Carb and at first had an off idle lean condition but since putting the car back on KC chassis dyno here in Dallas we have richened up the car and it runs great. Mclead Clutch and Aluminum flywheel.

Did you order a KC stroker or some other builder?

Gary, I ordered the motor from Keith himself. It suppose to be complete, dynoed ready to set in car. I am going to run an electric Mesiere water pump, Keith thinks there shouldn't be any cooling issues since using an aluminum block. Keith seems to think power will be in the 625 range, using the AFR 225 fully ported heads. The BDR car will support 3.19 gearing, weight around 2200 lbs. Traction will probably be an issue. What transmission do you use?Is the 638 HP rear wheel horsepower?

Alan, what gears are you running in your car? I almost settled on buying a LONE STAR car, but Boudy popped up with a pretty good deal on a BDR, so I went that route. Not to change the subject, I have not registered my car it, I read how Gary's is registered, how did you register your car? Any problems I might need to be awhare of? I live in Hunt county if that makes any difference.

Don,

If I might make a suggestion...you are a good 2 hours away but you might want to cruise up this morning to our meeting in Lewisville at 11am....it would be a good time to probably see both the motors you are asking about.

Matt
