Spring Meet Devil's Backbone Cruise

It was great to see so many Cobras at El Arroyo's restaurant. I would like to know who did the complete Hill Country cruise (including the Devil's Backbone option). I for one, along with Ray Russell, and Gashole did the backbone.

How many of you did the regular cruise through Wimberley, Driftwood, Oakhill, and back to the hotel?

I know a few Cobras did a U-turn back to the hotel at the first sign of rain (sprinkles). After the sprinkles in Wimberley, no more rain was encountered. It was a great Hill Country cruise after that.

Ed,

Nick and I did the regular cruise through Wimberley. The photo guy scared the **** out of us. He was in his White truck and when we came blasting around this corner I saw the white light of his Camera and thought it was a cop taking radar. Talk about a heart attack. The cruise was nice.

I did the Back Bone!

Man that just sounds dirty!! Hey thanks to who ever designed the cruise it was awesome. I live in Wimberley and made the trip Friday night and Saturday morning to the Round Rock Rally. Even though I live in the wimberley area it isn't the same unless you area cruisin with other cars and movin through the curvy roads and seeing others grinnin along the way. Thanks again and what an awesome Rally.:MECOOL:

I was in a pack of about 10+cars and a motorcycle for the whole cruise...simply awesome!

We were led by the two Daytona coupes and only had a few other cars get in the way or intermix with us. Any more than that would have been difficult to really stay together.

We did have a state trooper scare some of us on the return trip...he was setting at the bottom of a hill right where were were planning a left had turn to another road. I guess that was good anyways since we were slowing to turn (luckily). That must have been a sight :p My friend an I were joking at which one of us would have been picked to be pulled over...I think it would have been the neon orange Unique, boy was it pretty and stuck out amoung all of us :D

We sure got some looks on the highway (1) headed back into Round Rock especially when we were three wide at times and making our way through the traffic. We even had a few other motorcycles and ricers try to get in the mix but soon realized that they were out of their league :p

Again...a great time.

To Ed, out TCC tour director. "Gettin' sum backbone" was a real highlight! We should have cruised another couple of hours in that fine country. Maybe another Hill Country cruise in a couple of months?????:D
Thanks, for all you do.

Devin, the crowd with the coupes did not do the whole run. this was the short run, not the backbone route.

It appears like most of the past years that when everyone leaves it's off to the races and everything get's broken up and people get left behind. Even the group we started in got put in the left lane of the express way and then right before the exit we were suppose to take, they darted across three lanes of traffic to get off. Of course many of us missed that and then had to figure out how to get to the luncheon. Thank God Greg and Vicki just happened to take the same route and a whole bunch of us followed them in! I'd like to go back to the poker run format with multiple stops that let's everyone catch up as I thought that worked pretty good in the past I think we tried to have one Austin car or someone real familar with Austin in a group of 8 or 10 cars.........
