Yes to March. I agree Dennis that it comes up every year and maybe this could stop it. As I remember it, the most comments were that were might lose attendance if we had it later in the season. I never agree'd with that as I think freezing our butts off is equally hard on attendance.

Just because the vote was for Feb last year people change their minds and we should not be affraid of change. Time to break out of our paradigmn and try March and warmer weather!!!!!!
If people were affraid to change we'd still be driving Model Ts and there never would of been a Cobra................... |
The fact that it is voted on every year indicated there was need for change.
When the Irish blew up the statue of Admiral Nelson on O'Connel street in Dublin in 1918 on Easter, not much changed. It was FIVE years before we got our Independence in 1922 from england. I say lock in on March and if Easter comes early we will hide the eggs in Cobras for the Kids. The Mosquitoes that did not freeze in February may be out , but you have this wind in Texas that seems to blow all the time. Whatever you decide, I'm with you with my 427 heater and hardtop. tommy |
i'm for march. ed, send me an email-fia28950@aol.com-i've got a question.

I'm for Spring time is Austin!
Okey, Dokey,
Here is for my vote on the subject as proposed THIS YEAR!!!! I vote to move it to the March weekend, which has crossed the problem of booking the hotel! I see nothing to lose and quite a lot to gain, ie- warmer weather, springtime in the Hill Country, a better turnout of people, another day, Much better cruising weather, bringing my son with me, etc, etc, etc! Look, this event has evolved a LOT over the past 5 events and we have instituted any number of changes with the net result of growth EVERY year! This is just one more idea of another way to refine our event, so lets just see where the dust settles. I will be here again next year in SPF # 586 just like I have been every year so far, and the group that can make that claim is indeed small now. A large majority of us could be called "die hards" because we will show up no matter what, but if we can make another change to benefit the TCC as a whole, why not try it on for size?? Let's do it! John Russell just one of 32 known founding members, and extremely proud of it! |
What John said.....only down side is we have to WAIT another month to come!!!!!!!!

Gary,
