Shameless plug
Gents,
This is a plug for my friend's ceramic coating business. If you are shopping around for a place to coat your headers, please consider American Coating Specialties Humble Texas. This is a small shop with a fast growing reputation for quick, friendly, quality service. Delorian Motor Cars Inc uses "ACS" for their header coating needs. Link: http://www.delorean.com/exhaust.asp They removed my header's worn out ceramic coating by grit blasting and re- coated them. Cost: $280. 4 days turn arround They coat the pipes inside and out. They do black ceramic coating that has an even higher temp rating. (It does not fail when applied to catilytic converters.) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/u..._cantidate.jpg Their website is real basic at this point. Here is a link to a forum of car enthusiasts that have discovered "ACS". http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...5&pagenumber=1 Please tell them Steve at Club Cobra referred you. Thanks, Steve:) :) :) |
How Dare you Steve
Steve how could you .....
I was wanting to talk to someone on Ceramic Coat . Talked to Jimmy and he was very helpful Thanks for sticking your neck out . I should be sending my stuff in in the xt week or two . Big T ps I also own A paint, body / mechanic shop       |
Steve,
No reason to apologize for the plug. I was about to send mine to Jet Hot until a friend made me aware of a local shop (G&T Coatings in Fredericksburg, VA) that did quality work, just as good if not better, and for less. Plus I could deliver them without fear of the shipping dents. From the pictures, it looks like they do quality work too. One of the great things about CC is that we all benefit from the tips and referrals handed out by people with experience with certain vendors. |
Good information. thank you I guess I will be sending the pipes to Houston.
Now, if only we had someone if Dallas:confused: |
Headers are the easy part to get done. The question is can they do the sidepipes? Getting good work nowdays is hard as no one has a tumbler big enough to do the hole pipe at once. They have to keep changing ends......or this is what I have been told.

Gents,
Thanks for the kind words. :) Mustangmendez, A couple of months ago I talked to a contractor who was working accross the street from my home. He saw my cobra. We got to talking. Turns out he knows you. It's a small world. Don't worry, Being the turkey that I am, I'm used to sticking my neck out. Please post a picture of the headers when you get them back :) Clay, Yeah, it's nice to do business with a small company where you don't get lost in the shuffle. James, My pleasure. I hope the info helps you out. Gary, That is a great point. At this time they cannot do the sidepipes due to the size of their pollishing machine. They are looking to puchase another/ larger one. I will let you guys know when they get it. It's going to be real nice to have a local shop that can handle stuff like that. Steve:) :) :) |
Steve, please DO post on the forum when they can handle sidepipes...mine are a wee bit sad and will need a recoating soon, and I would MUCH prefer to do bidness with someone nearby. And thanks for posting the info about these guys, their work looks great.
