Thursday Night Blast
Tonight Ford Motor Company had a dinner function up at Texas Stardom in Frisco (Frisco Mall). After having a few cocktails and some great food I noticed a bunch of cars showing up for the local Thursday night car show. A few Shelbly Mustangs, Vipers, Corvettes, late model Mustangs and a bunch of other performance vehicles. Nice Show! Well around 7:00 pm I decide to go home and get the Cobra and come back up to the show. Of course everyone was all over the car but the real fun was yet to come!!!
Well around 9:00am I decided it was time to hit the road and head home and of course 2 Corvettes (Z06s) with a few mods left right in front of me. We jumped up on the North Tollway and they wanted to play. Normally I wouldn't give them the time of day but heading south on the tollway they kept playing with me one on both sides of me in the middle. Well that was it, I had enought and a way we go down to second and to the floor....Wow this 427 Keith Craft motor showed it stuff not only blowing these Corvettes off but almost too much HP to hold it. They actually came back a second time and just a short shot in third was enough to send these boys packing. Can't image what this would of been like with out those drag radials on the rear. The car was still a hand full but what a ride!! |
Boy, I wish I had been riding shotgun!
Gary,
This must have truly been a blast and a half!! I wish I could have been with you, and then at the dealers today when those guys tried to take the Vettes back!! HA    Now, come on, tell the truth old friend....... aren't you glad you took that bad boy off the "for sale" site?? That car is just too fine for words! Your buddy, John Russell |
Gary, Nice to know your putting that motor to good use. I get challenged all the time mostly by punks in city areas and won't touch it. My dad told me when I was a kid there is a time and place for everything. Looks like you had the right time and place. Take care of "MY" car until I buy it from you.

John,
I really know better especially after a few beers but it was just one of those moments and really the first time I took it up to 7,500 and hit third...........actually got my attention pretty quick!!!! It still up on the For Sale site and the guy in KC is suppose to let me know next week, think he may be looking at a few more Cobras, but I am actually thinking about keeping it. |
