Hey, 66Snake
Alan,
After talking with you last night about your 418w and thinking it all over this morning,I called Keith Craft again and changed my order. I decided I would take that extra step and go for a 600 hp 418w like yours instead of the 408w I ordered monday.:3DSMILE: New Sportsman block AFR 225 cc heads Eagle 4340 crank - zero balanced Eagle 4340 H-beam rods JE Forged pistons, 10 to 1 Bottom end girdle Comp Cam custom grind .576" lift, 252@.050 intake, 262@.050 exhaust Scorpin roller rockers Comp High Tech push rods Victor Jr. intake Di Vinci HP 950 CFM carb All ARP bolts McLeod alumium flywheel McLeod Street Twin Disc clutch McLeod Scattershield Edelbrock Victor Series water pump Canton oil pan :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |

If you want to splurge a little more, My Kieth Craft motor is almost the same as Alan's, it is aluminum blocked and 427 cubic inches. Makes for a pretty lite weight package, 612 horsepower-615 torque. Either way, you will be happy with either package, I promise you. DON |
Fred
I'll have one also  Bernie |
Don, Bernie
I did consider the aluminum Dart block. For the horsepower level I was looking for I just couldn't justify the cost to myself. I can live with the 80 lbs. it would have saved. Besides it would have cut into my summer vacation funds. This West Texas boy can be happy with the est. 470 rwhp.:3DSMILE: |
Considering Fred weighs only 80lbs himself, the weight of the engine should not be an issue :)
|
James,
Thanks for explaining why you think I don't need to spend $ 3,200 to save 80 lbs.. By the way,I would like to borrow your infamous a$$ kicking boots for the next time we meet.:3DSMILE: |
Seven weeks and counting.

Six weeks and counting.:3DSMILE:

Sorry Fred... I think Keith is going on vacation for 8 weeks beginning on Aug. 1st... It does not look like your engine will be ready until Oct.... :p ;)
Just kidding |
James,
I can deal with my heart skipping a few beats.I think it stopped while reading your post though.I'm glad I made it down to the bottom of your post. :3DSMILE: How's Jeannie's Cobra coming along ? :D |
Less than four weeks and counting (from the beach ):3DSMILE:

He olny THINKS he is getting his engine with a comment like that ---"on the beach" - sheez
Go ahead and rub it in Freddo :) |
Watching the bikinis on the beach does help ease the pain of waiting for the new stroker.:3DSMILE:
There seems to be a link between the bikinis and the long rod stroker too.:D |
