Oh sure Tom, the old bait & switch again!
Tom, Tom, Tom,
Now I saw Gary & Susan yesterday evening, and I heard about your "little" run on 635 going back home & how you just couldn't help yourself & the black smoke & all and the talk about breaking 100 in that Excursion, so I saw this thread fully expecting a ringing endorsement of a certain un-named Diesel programmer:LOL:   , and I click on the thread............. Dang!!! For a car that is being driven from the wrong seat that little Motha' s pretty darn fast! Not at all what I was expecting out of you, but those three videos are pretty darn neat, all three of them, again, and again! Geez, topping out in second at 100, I wonder what rear end they are using in that Cobra, and I think the body they had to put on their Cobra just to get the aerodynamics down is pretty dang ugly, but, hey, they are driving on the wrong side anyway so how can we expect them to even know what a Cobra should really look like. Fast all right, but pretty dang ugly for a Cobra if you ask me!  John Russell |
That is almost as fast as Jeannie's Mercury Sable. :)

Ultima GTR
Cobra Dan,
It's not a contest ...[The British built super car stormed from 0-60mph in 2.8 secs and reached 100mph from standstill in an incredible 5.9 secs] Tom, Great article, glad you found it. "Driven by Ultima Director, Richard Marlow, the factory built Ultima GTR set a new world record time of 10.3 seconds to achieve 0-100mph-0 smashing the previous record by half a second. The company info indicates that this car is available in the US as a "kit". Further in the companys info, it went on to state that this chassis was used as a "mule" by McLaren in their development of the F1. It resembles a Porsche 962. I like the view from inside the car.. Did you see the flames coming from the unspent fuel in the exhaust pipes when it came to rest? A street car that can handle along with accelerating to 100 in 5.9 seconds and doing it at 10% of the cost of a McLaren!!! Incredible... One thing I can say about the our fellow enthusiasts across the pond, they know serious speed. Is that where AC was? ;) Don |
