Marriott's Web Link
TCC membership can book their hotel reservations via web on-line link or phone. Marriott will give us a special code for TCC discount rate.
See "2005 TCC Spring Meet Hotel Reservations" thread for URL, phone, and TCC group rate information. |
Sticking with Digital Photo Cafe
Since we have not received any word from Hart, and it seems that Hart cannot provide on-site photos to purchase, we will use Digital Photo Cafe again for our 2005 Spring Meet photographer. Doug Pawlak has promised better service than last years meet.

Lunch & Cruise
Since last years cruise was slightly rained out, we plan on doing the same cruise from El Arroyo's restaurant, through the Texas Hill Country, Wimberley, Devil's Backbone, and back to the hotel. Hopefully we will have more Cobras and TCC members doing the cruise.

Help is Always Appreciated!
We can always use help during the Hotel registration. We will have a TCC table set up like last year for all TCC members to sign in and pick up their name tags, raffle tickets, and information packets. This year we would like to have everyone provide their email address during registration. (This email information will only be used by the TCC and WILL NOT be made public outside the TCC membership.)
Anyone wanting to suggest additional activities for our three day event, please do so. I will update the schedule as required. |
Hotel Exit Number
Changes around the Marriott Hotel have been made since last years meet. In addition to restaurants and stores, our first toll road system has changed the overall look of the area. Now we have massive overpasses adjacent to the Hotel area.
Traveling either north or south on I35, the Marriott Hotel's exit number is either #250 or #251. In addition to Exit 250, Hwy 1325 signs are also displayed. South bound TCC traffic from the Dallas area will exit at either 250 or 251 and make a right turn at the intersection. Proceed for 1/2 mile to the hotel. North bound TCC traffic from Houston will exit at either 250 or 251 and make a left turn at the intersection, and go over the overpass. Proceed for 1/2 mile to the hotel. Additional street names to the Marriott can be found at: http://marriott.com/property/propert...WT_Ref=mi_left See Map & Transportation. |
Parking Layout!
We will have the parking lot layed out some time Wednesday Night or Thursday morning early. I know Tom, Stretch and a host of others including myself, will be workin on the lay out. So don't worry and be happy!:D

Raffle Prizes
I have received our raffle prizes from Paula & Enzo (Finish Line).
Thank you Paula & Enzo for your yearly support. |
I will have a table set up on Friday during the car show, selling fun items with all proceeds going to Wyat's ongoing meds that he needs. I know you Dallas guys are good but I would like everyone to contribute something from your area that you think would be fun or want to bring home. I talked to Tony before posting this and got his permission. He even volunteered to man the table for a few hours. This will be a fun thing and strictly voluntary during the car show. We will sell everything, not guarantee anything to work and no refunds. Sounds like Ford Racing Performance products, doesn't it?
Oh and Ed will be Mr. O'Csoltko since it will be St. Patrick's Day. tommy |
Austin TV Media Contacted
I contacted the local Austin TV media (Channels 7,24,36,42,& 54) with the following Press Release:
Press Release - Media Announcement Introduction: In the early 1960's, a brash Texan by the name of Carroll Shelby envisioned an automotive marriage between a European sports car & the American V-8. By dropping a lightweight small-block Ford V-8 engine into the chassis & aluminum body of a British AC Ace 2-seat roadster, Shelby created a car that would dominate the racing circuits of the era & change the face of automotive history forever. In it's heyday a Shelby Cobra had no equal on the track. This early 289 FIA Cobra was refined & evolved throughout the 60's & the final version was a thundering, fire breathing, take-no-prisoners, flare fendered, big block 427 S/C Cobra roadster, which is today regarded as the very essence of brute automotive power. The 427 Cobra S/C is still considered to be the fastest production street car ever sold in America. Today, the Texas Cobra Club (TCC) celebrates the spirit of the Shelby Cobra by sharing a passion for this legendary race car. Club members from all across Texas build, customize, race & drive Shelby Cobra replicas from one of several replica manufacturers. Several times a year, area & statewide events are hosted to get together & raise the hoods, check out the newest additions, talk shop & generally share the fun & fellowship of other Cobra enthusiasts. It's also a real kick to watch the heads turn & the jaws drop when 50 or 60 Cobras rumble down the road. For more information on the Texas Cobra Club, feel free to follow the links on the web site to view photos & learn more about past gatherings, upcoming events, current members & their Cobras. www.texascobraclub.com 2005 Austin Spring Meet: The TCC is having their sixth annual spring meet here in Austin on March 18th (Friday) and March 19th (Saturday) at the Austin Marriott North Hotel - Round Rock, TX. On Friday, we plan to have an all day car show in the hotel parking lot. On Saturday, we will have lunch from 12:00-2:00pm at El Arroyo’s restaurant located in Bee Cave, TX. A cruise through the Texas Hill Country will begin at 2:00pm from Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Driftwood, Oak Hill, and back to the hotel in Round Rock. This year we are expecting 80+ Cobras and 200+ members, families, and friends to attend. Every year we invite the TV media to attend our yearly event. If you would like more information please contact: Ed Csoltko 512-288-0446 csoltko@hotmail.com |
TV Channels 7 & 36
El Arroyo's restaurant management has informed me that Channel 36 (KXAN) will cover our lunch meet at El Arroyo's.
Marriott hotel management has informed me that they have contacted Channel 7 (FOX) and our meet is noted on their programming schedule. |
Support Vehicles
We will need several support vehicles with trailers to follow us on the Hill Country Cruise. Somebody needs to take charge of this need. Every year we have several Cobras that are in need of assistance on the road.

Preliminary Count
If you miss the chance to register, you can register in the Marriott hotel lobby when you arrive.

Security Established
Just finished talking with the Marriott Hotel management about the security for our Spring Meet. We will have security in place from 11:00pm to 7:00am on the evenings of Thursday (3/17), Friday (3/18), and Saturday (3/19) at a cost of $300 per night.
We will have a collection box available in the hotel lobby at our registration table. As previous members have stated, $15 per Cobra is not a bad deal for a little piece of mind for three evenings. Also an additional $5 would help pay those additional expenses occured to maintain our TCC web site, printing costs, etc.. |
Ed, this is wonderful news-bring cash!
Ed,
Way to go! I want to suggest to the membership to bring cash & just slip you( or the designated $$ holder) a $20. Remember, we don't have an active treasury or a bank account. so checks will require someone making a personal deposit and writing a personal check. See Y'all in just a couple of weeks!!
