2 into 1
Closed on our new house and I'm working on the priority stuff. Things like garage floor coating, 4 post lift, etc. The lift created an additional parking spot which is good. The photo shows our yellow demo car. My car will be residing there very soon.

Jim, Way Cool. Wish I had a lift in my garage. How high is your ceiling? Might try to figure a way to put one in mine. Never thought of cutting out a section for the windshield. What type of lift is it?

Mark,
My ceiling height is only 8' 6" thus the necessity to make some clearance adjustments for the windshield and rollbar. I intend to finish the cutouts with sheetrock, tape and bedding and then paint. Hopefully they'll just appear to be skylight openings. The make of the lift is Direct Lift and it's a Pro-Park 7. I saw it at the Goodguys Shows at TMS in October. The local distributor is Derek Weaver Company in Ft. Worth. 888.560.9510. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
Guess you will know when you have an oil leak hu.

Looks good Jim, Lucky you didn't have #1492 on the rack!!!!
She is in the shop as we speak, hopefully for a full recovery. Take Care, James :D :D :D |
I just posted a new topic that you might be able to help with. If you ceiling was 12" taller would it fit w/o the cut out for the windsheild? My rafters go the other way so the cut out is not an option, but I have a 9'6" height.
Thanks |
Burgs you should still be able to do it by cutting them and boxing it in. I've done that add a pull down ladder that needed to go the opposite way of the rafters.

Great idea jwoodard! :3DSMILE: |
How about a pic of the new homestead Jim?
|
It should fit.
If you have a 9' 6" ceiling height, it should work just fine. Measure the height of your car, add 5" for the lift and then the height of the other vehicle. Add them all together and if it's less than 9' 6" you're OK.
Gary, I'll post a picture of the new homestead later. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
Jim,
What floor covering did you go with? or are you going with Matt |
Floor covering
Matt,
I went with a granite look. It consists of 3 coats of epoxy, one coat of polyurethane, with vinyl chips added to give a granite-terrazo appearance with a slip resistant surface. I tried posting a picture but the Galllery seems to be not working properly. The picture I did post with the lift does show the floor, just not very clear. You're more than welcome to come see it. The Company I used is Granite Garage Coatings out of Arlington. Ed Miller, 817.784.2759 if you're interested. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
Granite Garage Covering
I was finally able to get the photo gallery to work, so here's a shot of my garage floor.
