What's the story with the Series I? Did SA ever release the SeriesII? I thought the cars looked real sharp and would rather see them developed further instead of Fords 'Daisy'.

Thanks ST I was on ebay today must of just put it on for listing. Pics a little small but thats the color combo I was trying to get. Anyone else know where I can get a pic of the shelby series 1 in this color combo red/black stripes ?

Starting bid $35K with no reserve?

My how the mighty have fallen. Pity the owners that bought a Series 1 for an investment.

With an Oldmobile engine Ford wouldn't have anything to do with this car.

But what if they had Ford power? You know what, I guess I should stop pooping on Gi8s thread and go ask my ignorant S1 questions somewhere else:LOL:

This new listing my be a scam, the car in question just sold B4 Christmas and was in Arizona, I had the oppertunity to almost buy this car and only gave up after the wife found out that you can not get service on these fron Oldsmobile .The car is one of only two red cars with all options, including the supercharger and the only car with special blacked out wheels. Miles were 1400 and car was perfect. Pictures are fron the other owner in Arizona.

Could be a SCAM all right.

Even though the prices have dropped on them, it's unreasonable to think they would go THAT LOW!

Oops, you sucked me into that one Max, I should have seen it coming when you mentioned "Series II". :D
Series II,,, would that be lika a Titantic II?

Reason for no more series 1 has to do with meeting DOT approval on safety standards.

I read some info. a while back from Shelby American that they would have to spend millions to make the Series 1 up to the crash standards required. They were given a three year or so exemption but must have all the cars done after that time.

This has been a couple years ago. SA has had previous money problems prior to the new Shelby International and now new dealings with Ford.

Also, the car took longer than expected to complete, hense the cars were given the year of '99 for completion even though done after that. Price overruns and other matters came up.

I think they look nice, but a Olds motor just doesn't do anything for me. Oh, where is Olds now........?!!!

Excalibur's had the same problem. Federal exemption ran out, production stopped. About 150 Excals total. How many Series 1?
