Default CAR Show Rusk Texas July 2

First annual Phil Clark Stampede
Down town Rusk Texas
July 2
parade 9:30
car show 10:00 until 3
drags 5 until 8 at Cherokee raceway
free entry for car show
this is an open show and trophies will
be awarded.
beauty pageant at 11 am does carry entry fee
Rusk is famous for the train that runs to Palestine
On that site in 1897 nothing happened.
In reality there are more historical markers in Cherokee
county than any county in Texas.
If Mark Twain could have slept anywhere , it would have been Rusk.
Phil Clark drew the Mustang Running Horse for Ford and it is believed he is the true inventor of the Mustang. He died young from a kidney disorder and this show benefits the Kidney Foundation of Texas.
Hope to see you there in your beautiful Cobras!
Rusk Chamber of Commerce 903 683 4242

Please remember Skipper's family in your prayers.
He had the 460 T bird race car that took first place at the Rusk show.
He died friday night from cardiac arrest. He was 52 yrs old.
Some of you may have met him at the Shelby bash in Pitttsburg, TX a couple of years ago.

Yowzers, a bit early for a July event, but hey, doesn't hurt to throw it out there on the books.
Sounds fun.

Rusk would be a great road trip....I have driven through it a few times in recent years. Beautiful countryside, about 2 hours from Dallas in rolling forests of East Texas. If it just isn't too hot it would be fun.
