Moving to Austin

We are heading back home to Austin after a 10 year absence. Looking forward to the weather and hopefully some activity in the cobra club. I have only had a cobra for about 3 months - but out here in Richmond, Va there is not an active club at all.

I have a Hunter replica with a 351C and 5 Speed. It is a nice driver, not a show car, and I have enjoyed every minute of owning the car. I have put about 1000 miles on the car since owning and drive it every day that weather allows.

We are looking at homes in the Northwest Area (Round Rock, Lake and Georgetown). Trying to find something with a large lot, pool and 3+garage spaces. We are leaving a nice home/garage here and are kind of spoiled from the experience.

Here is my car:

welcome back to Texas, and if you make it in the next two Saturday's you'll make the Austin July meet. :D
There are about a dozen active members in the Austin area, and they meet monthly.
The annual meet of the Texas Cobra Club is in Round Rock every year. Last weekend of March. You most likely will have moved here by then???
We'll look forward to meeting you and seeing your car in person. :)
hurry on back!

Thanks for the invite - it is good to know there are some activities down there. I won't have my car down there until the end of august. It will have to go into storage until house closings - so it will be early fall before I drive it down there.

Agshelby,

Welcome back to Texas.....and you were kidding about looking forward to the weather considering it is July, right?

Don't need a car to join the fun

Agshelby,

You don't need a cobra to come and join the group. You will need to get the car out before September. Tony(MustangMendez) has a little get together down in Lockhart and the Houston group has there Lake Conroe gathering in October.

Welcome to the fun

It will be too hot to drive the cobra in August - except maybe at night. We are looking forward to no winters (compared to the East Coast), not the hot summers.

I don't blame you for moving back to Texas. :) Welcome back. There are some fine Cobra Club members around Austin. We are planning on a weekend meet in Conroe in Oct. Stay tuned. A good chance to meet more Cobra folks. Is that Chuck's old Hunter? Very nice car.

Yes - it is Chuck's Hunter. It is a very nice driver - and a great car overall.
