It took 15 years and more than 20,000 hours to build:

20000 hours ....

15 years ....

1333 hours per year

3-1/2 hours every day of every week of every month ..... for 15 years.

That is dedication

Consider that along with the key he also built the internals of the ignition switch, built the batteries and made the tires all from scratch.

Impressive craftsmanship. But I have to wonder, could he have not built a full-size replica in about the same amount of time?

This was the coolest mini Ferrari I have seen first hand. No match for that workmanship, but...

Battery powered or petal power?

Yetiman 10-17-2006 03:46 PM

10 hp Briggs. I believe it was built on a 2 person Go-kart with custom body and wheels.

It looked pretty cool cruising the paddock at Road America.

Beautiful craftsmanship and remarkable dedication.

But dam*ed if I would spend 15 years of my life to end up with something to just look at & dust.

Ed Csoltko 10-17-2006 04:11 PM

If he can only find a small person to drive the Ferrari. :D
