Way to go Steve.

hey,littlecobra 11-16-2006 07:58 PM

in Steve's absence....
"Redline Raceway" in Royse City. (North/Northeast of Quinlan, etc. out I-30)
I think a cruise day to the strip would be good.

Part of the 'let's get more people involved' mentality. Keep the monthly meet as usual, and add some fun activities along the way.
I would have liked to have gone to this event, but Sunday's are hard for me.
too many kids' projects. :(
looks great, Steve!!! :D

Heee Heee!
Bro, you are cracking me up! I SO wish I could have made it out there with you. Next time you go, let me know, I'm in.
Any hints on getting the monster to hook up? What's the secret to a good launch? How do you heat up the tires without a front lockup? So many questions, such a slow typist....
Was that really a Mitsubishi keeping up with you through 1/8?
Your daughter may be laughing now, but just wait til you learn how this snake behaves and you take her on a ride so scary she wets her pants!
This would be a fun 'tween-the-meeting meeting.

hey,littlecobra 11-16-2006 09:12 PM

sounds like you might need an 'expert' to show you how to do it... ;)

LuvDaBlues 11-17-2006 06:36 AM

Check that Kristen. The track is actually in Caddo Mills. Between Royce City and Greenville on I-30. Round trip from my house in Heath I only put on 45 miles that day, including the racing. There is even a Exxon station across the street if you make a bunch of runs.

Miles, I was warned by my buddy who races rails that drag racing can really tear up the differential in these independent suspensions. So I wasn't too concerned about the tire spin. Second, release the clutch on the last yellow, not the green. That will save you .6 seconds in reaction time. (It's all shown on the slip they give you after each race). Third, the burn out is VERY easy. They have a trough with water in pre stage. You can burn and heat up until your hearts content. And last, I beat the Mitsubishi by one second. (Oh yeah, he did have two passengers with him).

On the fourth run, I was against a souped up Mercedes. He beat me by .1 second. He was trying out his new wheels and race tires, then this week he is going to run nitres.

Oh yeah, before I went, I replaced my rev limiter chip with a 6000 to protect the engine. Surprising how fast you can hit that limit.

OK, OK. You guys have twisted my arm. If anyone is interested and the weather holds out, I'll go again. Last one of this month is this Sunday. It's called "Fun & Grudge". ANYBODY can race ANYTHING! $15 for all the runs you can make.

ok, thanks for the correction. :)

never been there, sometime will go. :D

Hey - if anyone is interested, Steve S. and I are going to Caddo this Sunday (the 18th) and do a little racing. The weather looks to be perfect - Ya'll come

hey,littlecobra 11-17-2006 05:03 PM

hmmmm sounds interesting..... ;)

let me check with the boss.....

jshel1 11-17-2006 09:19 PM

Sounds like great fun. I would love to meet y'all out there. Can't though, would you believe it, I have soccer.

Madmiles442 11-17-2006 09:44 PM

Checked with my schedule coordinator (the other one in my house wearing a wedding ring) and I'm free to go.
She did say if I tear the thing up, I'm on my own so I'm bringing a tow rope!
Since I got the car in March, I've been so anxious to see what it'll do in 1/4 mile, can't wait!
Man, I hope my REAL reaction time is better than what it was at KCM with the light tree. If I remember right, I got smoked by everyone, including a 13 year old!
Steve, is your drag racing friend going to be there?
What time are yall heading out? Website says 1pm til dark.
I don't have anything other than a bike helmet. Can I borrow/rent one?

hey,littlecobra 11-17-2006 09:53 PM

Miles. it looks like it's an 1/8th mile track.
i'm going to try to make it. Usually bike helmets aren't allowed. this looks like a more 'casual' track, so maybe so.
is there a number to call???

Steve- you know any answers here??

:) Kristen

LuvDaBlues 11-18-2006 12:51 AM

hey,littlecobra 05-11-2008 06:56 PM

hey, Budman, this one's for you.....

(i was perusing the thread about your beloved KMS Cobra being for sale on ebay, and went to take a look at your posts. You had posted here, regarding our halloween party and a meet, and you being off at Xtapa (how DO you spell that????!!!!)

I hope you still come around and visit every now and then. :)
best of luck!!
Kristen

Hi, Kristen!

Of course I will! Tough decision selling #142, but after seven years, its time to let her go. Just no real time anymore to enjoy her, and she needs to be driven and enjoyed. Hopefully the new owner will have as much fun as I have had with her.

I will miss everyone at TCC, but hopefully I can convince Mr. Ray Russell to give me a lift occasionally to the meetings in that Superformance rocket ship of his! :)

Keep the shiny side up!!

Ed Csoltko 05-12-2008 09:08 AM

Bud,

Looks like you and I will keep old Ray going for awhile.

Sorry to see your Kirkham go.

Did you ever get track time with her?

See you soon,

Ed
