mom's Christmas list
Some of you know that my mom is the love and inspiration of my life. She has been the greatest role model anyone can ask for and at 83 she still has her bluff in on me...I am scared to death of her;)
Today she gave me her Christmas gift wish list part 1 and I thought it was worth sharing. "Please forgive me for being late with my list that you wanted me to send." White Diamond perfume Clinique moisturizer new glasses 2 new hips 1 good back 2 good ankles new cell phone new black "pretty"earrings black purse (pretty) 2 hands with workable fingers a new car that I can drive-bench seats more visits with my son and Dee a good maid that shows up warm pajamas-not flannel Hope this helps you. I really don't need anything but I always love your gifts. I am so blessed that I have had her in my life for this long. Anyone have any suggestions on purses? Jay |

Don't even think about trying to pick the purse out....you know it won't be right, go for the warm PJ"s, more visits with the family, the cell phone and maybe the maid....those would be tough ones to screw up.
Merry Christmas Mark |
Jay,
I asked my wife and one of my daughters about the purse, and they said that maybe a "vintage" purse of some kind that she might have wanted when she was a bit younger would be nice. She sounds to be quite a character (like her son) from that list. ;) Please wish her a Merry Christmas from us. Cheers! Dave |
Jay,
The best thing you can give her is your time - enjoy the time with her because it do fly by fast and you will have no regrets and plenty of great memories to enjoy. |
Lost my Mom 20 years ago...I constantly think about the times I didnt stop my to just say Hi....was too wrapped up in my own life or so I thought. Take the time to spend the time with her...drive the few extra mile out of your way. You will be glad you did. Only family I have left is my inlaws and I insist my wife, children and yes me spend as much time as possible with them. My wifes grand dad is 91...was a "harley rat" in his day before Harleys were in vogue. Took him for a ride in my Cobra on thanksgiving day...he was able to get in easier than I do...wive said take it easy with him...he said"when you gonna get on it ?"

I know how close you are to your mom Jay and I think you will satisfy her no matter what you do or say. Our moms deserve so much more than we can ever buy at a store. After all most of us are Type A personalities and were probably a lot more than just a challenge to her during OUR formative years (ages 1-50).
Glad she is doing well Jay and wish her Merry Christmas from me. Clois |
Jay,
I lost my Mom at 15......I charish every thought I had with her. Go for the Pajamas....it's such a warm personnal touch. Shop on-line at pajamagram.com |
On the purse.... Liz Claiborne makes some lovely purses. Coach purses are of course perfect for the younger generation (like me) ;) but Liz C., tends to make them simple with just the right number of pockets. I bought several over the years for David's grandmother, who passed away at the good young age of 95 last May!!! :D
Inside, you can put the pefume, cell phone, pretty black earrings, glasses, Clinique and $$. (no she didn't ask for it, but everybody likes $100 in a purse) ;) The body parts?? hmmm. let me think on that one. And the car??? You're pretty good at buying cars, i'll let you decide on that one. :D oh yes. regarding the purse. stay with 'neutral's. such as black, brown or beige. All 3 of those can go 'year round'. A red purse is much much fun, but not as versatile. Liz Claiborne, most Dillard's, Macy's, etc. "Fine purse" department. Not quite as expensive at Coach, etc. Probably under $75. Kristen |
....also, Jay you might try Sam Moon's (lots of purses)...and it's just down the street!

I believe your Mom knows you would buy her the world . Keep her young and healthy for ever .But she has a message from her Heart to You and all of us ..... Make Time to be there for what ever that person it may be . Let them know how much you care and love them .... I know its always good see your loved ones together on special occasions . I look at when we get together at my Mom and Dads home , with our loved ones and see the ones missing from the circle of prayer that's the hard part its like who's next to leave the circle ? Be grateful to the ones that are their . You know on my last Birthday All I wanted is to sleep over at my parents house, so we did that it was a gift you cant BUY ... Merry Christmas From Us to Her |
