Is Bass Pro Drive a new name for a old street ?

hey,littlecobra 01-01-2007 06:48 PM

well, sort of. Since it is a brand new bass pro shop, I guess they named the exit after it. Don't remember the previous name. Just drove by it tonight, wish I could remember which exit comes before it. Maybe Chaha?? or Zion?? One of those, I THINK. Anyway, going east, on I-30, past Beltline, past Bobtown, past Rosehill, past Chaha, (I think) past Zion (I think) and then exit Bass Pro Dr. You can't miss it.... no kidding. :)
Maybe John S or Steve S can jump in here with the 'old name' or what exit it is after??
Maybe it was just 'frontage rd.' dunno!

Count me in for one. Not sure if the Cobra will be back together, doing some winter maintenance. Where's Mr. Nolan when we need him and his maps? I've done a search with the address and don't come up with anything close to where Kristin is talking about. What is the suggested route I take from Denton?

:D :D :D

Madmiles442 01-02-2007 07:56 AM

I'm in for one. Not bringing the Cobra - too many projects halfway done.

Jim Jacobs 01-02-2007 07:59 AM

Hi Jim - From Denton you take I-35 South to LBJ (635) East to I-30 East to Bass Pro Drive. It would be very hard to miss it. See you there.

jwoodard 01-02-2007 09:44 AM

Thanks Jim. See everyone there!

:D :D :D

Hi All,

Bass Pro Drive is the new name for the old Chaha Road exit. Bobtown, then Zion, then Bass Pro.

Stay on the access road... there is a parking lot turn-in from the access road; you won't have to negoptiate the stop light and redesigned intersection.

The circular drive and the more secure parking is on the extreme south east corner of the parking lot, look to the right of the building, where the lot starts to slope down.

John

hey,littlecobra 01-03-2007 07:07 AM

and, don't forget, Pepe has ANOTHER present for you!!! :D :D :D

392cobra 01-03-2007 07:12 AM

Thanks John.

It's always nice to know where the meeting is and how to get there.

jdean 01-03-2007 09:28 AM

Is this at the last exit before crossing Lake Ray Hubbard if headed East on I30?

hey,littlecobra 01-03-2007 09:29 AM

yup! :D :D :D

Yahoo! Maps, Driving Directions, and Traffic

it's at the "chaha" exit on this old, not updated to name change map!! The peninsula thing sticking out there. We will sit in the dining room, enjoying the Eastern view of the lake. Very nice!

Kristen

actually, we'll be looking at the words "Lake Ray Hubbard". :D

Mrs 66 Snake 01-03-2007 12:33 PM

I'll be there for sure. Alan and the car are maybes depending on (I kid you not) the weather report for Cactus, Texas.

Suzuki Joe 01-03-2007 05:00 PM

Howdy y'all!

Newbie here. I am planning on doing a Cobra "kit" as my next project (Check out my very first post: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all-...606-howdy.html) and someone suggested that I hook up with this venerable group to have all my questions answered.

I would love to try and do that, but need to know what time y'all meet (assuming a southerner (Waxahachie) is welcome amongst all you northern (Garland?) folks.

Thanks!

Joe

SSSammy 01-03-2007 05:38 PM

Welcome Joe!

Luncheon is at BassPro at 11:00 am on Sat .. see the directons in the posts above, or take I-30 East from I-635 to Bass Pro Dr. Arrive a little early if you can to socialize. I am also a kit builder and would be happy to talk with you .. look me up when you get there!

Cheers,
Sam Watson

LREYBURN 01-03-2007 06:52 PM

Count me in for one...J. Dean, lets caravan over together. I e-mailed D. Gentry to see if he can bring his new ride and join us. Happy New Year!

hey,littlecobra 01-03-2007 07:34 PM

suzuki joe.
coming from Waxahachie, you would of course come up I-35, go East on I-20, all the way around 20 and MERGE UP TO NORTH I-635. Don't stay on I-20 or you'll end up in Louisiana!!!
A few miles after you 'get onto I-635', you will come up to I-30. Take I-30 East, and follow above directions, about 5 exits to Bass Pro Dr. We generally gather around 10:30 in the parking lot to chat, and then lunch will be at 11.

We look forward to having you join us!!!
:)
Kristen
