Registering an out of state car
I don't currently own a Cobra, but plan on buying one soon. I have located a car that I like in Colorado. Does anyone know what to do to get the car registered and inspected in Texas? It's registered in Colorado as a 1999 (the year of it's manufacture). It is powered by a rebuilt 1979 351C engine. I just don't want to run in to problems that require modifying the car to meet emissions requirements. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

It should be no problem. Just check the title to see HOW it was registered. Most states have a category for "Homebuilt" or "Other" or some such that will exempt you from emissions. Colorado has some pretty tough standards now and if the owner was ok there you should be ok here as well. It will be granted a title here that matches the one issued in Colorado because most states do not question another states legal documents (interstate commerce laws).
