Any Houston Meetings? AC Bristol Aceca (pre-Cobra owner)

I am the proud 2nd owner of an all aluminum 49 year old -- 1958 AC Bristol Aceca (pre-Cobra owner). My car lost the 6 cyl. and 5 speed long ago and has a GM 5.7 litre drive train today. Is the Texas Cobra Club the right club for someone like me from the Houston? Are there Houston events? Thank you kindly for your counsel in advance.

Cheers,

Glenn

By all means, come join us! Go to this website and join the Houston Yahoo group...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Houstoncobraclub/

we're planning a meet in Beaumont for this coming Saturday night for the Beaumont Hot August Nights cruise if you can make that. Otherwise we meet every second Saturday somewhere around Houston for lunch, show and shine...

Nothing like an original AC owner to add some spice to the forum. (Not that it needs it) Welcome. I owned BEX 382 (1958 AC Bristol) as a wee lad by the way. Loved that little red car.

I have a treasure trove of orginal documents for AC Aceca Bristol BEX 652 that I would love to get to the current owner. I have tried the US AC Club. They have suggested I send the documents to them so they can pass them on when they find the owner. I have respectfully declined that offer, but I would like to find the current owner. The car was in Texas with Edward Temple during most of the time of these documents. Anyone with ideas of how to find the current owner please advise. thanks

This is a matching number car that came originally from Texas, it was in the dry climate all of its life, never corroded, never been involved in an accident.
The car underwent a complete restoration 2 years ago.
It had a bare metal respray in silver metallic with green leather interior, all axle and brake parts overhauled, 5 new chrome wire wheels with Michelin X tyres.
Asking GBP £46.500.

I'll ask my friend (AC parts for this side of the world), he has a list of cars and has had AC cars since the fifties.http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSCN7062.JPG

Glen Welcome!

As Ken said, we meet the 2nd Saturday of every month, Rain or Shine. If it's raining grab the grocery getter and come on out.

The Houston group normally communicates via the Houston Cobra Club yahoo group. Sign up and I'll get you approved asap.

Hope to meet you soon.

Dennis

Will Miss Beaumont but see you at the next meetings

Brent and Dennis

Thanks for the welcome and notes of introductions. Looks like the next event is in Beaumont - is that right? Just bought my car from the original owner. Club Cobra members will help us with restoration tips and shops for certain things.

The Roadsters club meets at a great "Breakfast" place that is fairly Central by Northwest Mall - on Hempsted Hwy. (Hickory Grille or something like that - I just checked http://www.b4-u-eat.com/eat002.asp?Z...&N=hickory&S=N but did not see the exact listing). Again we meet there for Breakfast due to their great parking lot - some just for the Roadsters - right out front. The place is very car club friendly and is cheap too. I will get the name if the C club is looking for a spot if interested?

Thanks again for the invitations and welcomes. Enjoy Beaumont!

Regards,

Glenn Barnett

Glenn,
Welcome to AC ownership. Glad to see another AC owner out there. My wife and I have a 57 AC Bristol, and we attend the TCC events when we can. We now live in the Austin area. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
