Default Dallas East Saturday Night Drags 9/15/07

Looks like nice weather Saturday night. Anyone interested in the "Fun & Grudge" 1/8 mile drags in Caddo Mills about 20 miles east of Dallas.

You could race anything from pickups to street rods. Lots of fun. 6 PM - 12 AM. But we'll last about 3-4 hours. You can run as many times as you want. We usually run 5-6 times.

now that was fun! too bad we didn't have more buddies show up.

The Dallas East Three Muskateers. That's us!!!!

Steve, Kristen, Jim:

now, Steve, keep your elbow inside the vehicle at all times!!!
Steve waxed this truck, of course.

I think i ran against this guy. Can't remember. He was pretty excited!
Well he might have run faster but I won.... he redlighted!!!!

Steve getting all gussied up. Lookin' good, Stevie boy.

very nice and very fast Camaro. Copper penny colored. He said it was called Sunset Orange or something like that. Don't remember. Anyway, nice guy to talk to, as well. Very fast!

#63 running good!
3 good runs; no REDLIGHTS this time.
My first two runs, I 'won' because the other car redlighted. They actually ran a better time.
Third run, against Steve, and he got me.
Good run, Steve. I need more track. 1/8 just too short for my blood.

We'll go back tho', sometime. Maybe some of our waxers a little West will join us.
Missed you Miles!
we called ya, buddy.

Have you EVER seen a drag Gremlin??? this car was way fast!! It was a really clean, great looking car, well for a Gremlin, ya know.

Kristen
Stay safe, and seeya down the road. Sometimes last minute works great, huh, Jim and Steve???
big hug!!!! {}

LOUD, smelly, dirty, flashy!!!! Can't ask for anything better than that for $15.
There are some real "junk yard racing" outfits out there that look as if it couldn't start, much less make it down the strip. And then there were some fabulous looking rigs that must have made a wrong turn heading to the summer nationals.

Folks, Kristen had more "tail wagging" than a puppy dog during each shift her first two runs. Her 500 has some pony's trying to get out. But after that, straight as an arrow. And of coarse Jim draws a lot of attention with #22. Very fun having a different car than the rest.

This is a great 3 hour outing, more need to come next time. I'll plan a bit more in advance next time. We'll shoot for something in the next two months. Nothing to interfere with R&G, monthly meetings, or the fall cruise that Jim W NEEDS TO ORGANIZE!!!!

hehe. I was leaving that part out!!!!
And, if I remember.... 'tail wagging' wasn't the choice of words you used.
a$$ slidin' or sumthing like that.
it was fun, let's do it again!!!
I'll go play with my two boys anytime, just call me.
(ok, jim, you can wipe your coffee off your screen now)

off to church. redeem my sins or something like that.
have a great day!!!

ps. I think my excellent driving and handling skills came into play when i was able to straighten my 'tail wagging' out each time. Dang those walls scare me!!!

Wow, that looks fun! I need to get myself and Annie back on the road, then I'll be out there.
Kristen, congrats on no redlights! That makes one in a row.
Hopefully nobody broke anything. I'm going to figure out how to lower my rev limiter 500 or so rpm. I remember whacking against that thing every shift and I'm sure that doesn't do a motor good. Maybe a little red shift light on the dash too.
Did yall get the cars to hook up?

I have a shift light for the 500, but man, i'm so busy thinking of and watching everything else i can't even imagine watching that shift light!!!

We each got 3 runs in, and Steve i think did one more- before Gemini. ( )

I didn't redlight any, and Jim did once I think, against me, our first run. I pulled out my time slips from last October, and the Cobra is MUCH faster on RT, ET and mph than the 500. The lead brick, i think.....

I spun the wheels and shimmied my tail quite a bit in the 500. ugh. Straightened it out pretty well the third run. I think I know what to do, next time.
The mph for the 500 was disappointing. I still think I'm a girl that likes a long ride, rather than a short thrill.
1/8 mile is just too short. Gimme an airstrip, please.

hope you're making good progress and learning to take the curves on the inside. Don't fall down, and how's the cane looking???
luvya, and missya!

Wow, this is just so dripping with double entendre I can't really let it go.
Okay, Kristen, how was your tail after shimmying for 10 laps around TMS? I think you already know how to straighten it out.
A girl that likes a long ride definitely needs a copilot with the same needs....
Relearning to take the curves is a work in progress (still trying to keep it to the inside), but the cane props me up when I need it. Unfortunately, I keep using my cane with my hand... Hope to wean off that soon!

hehe. you read it much much DEEPER than i wrote it.... hmmmm you sure were up late posting last night....

at TMS you start out coming out of the pits, and BUILD UP your MOMENTUM. Getting up to 80 mph takes a LONG LONG TIME, as opposed to a STRIP where you GET THERE as FAST as you can!

A girl that likes a long ride definitely needs a copilot with the same needs....
you, cutie boy, are as astute as you are handsome.

now who's doing the double entendre??? I read ALL SORTS of things into that post!!!!
so.... how's Amy???
let's see... I remember you saying something about her 'whuppin' my a$$' back when we were posting about the 'b!tch' at Hallett. I am NOT COMING AFTER HER MAN! She'd kill me or sumthin'.

get well soonnnnnn!!! how's the job search???
