Question for the Dallas folks
Does anyone do, or have recommendations for Fencing? I need to put in a small dog run approx 5'X15' to 5'X20'. I know it is easy to do, but I don't want to bother with the renting a concrete mixer, and all that other stuff. I need to have concrete poured all the way around since my dog likes to dig. I want to have a trench dug, the concrete put in and dirt put back on top. I want the concrete completely hidden, but if he digs, he hits the concrete and can't get out.
Any help would be appreciated. |

The funny thing is I have that now. When laying the patio, the wire got caught and snapped. I have a temp wire run right now, but I did not want to dig the trench again to lay a new one, and the wife is tired of him killing the grass in the middle of the yard from laying on it.

Joe, I suggest driving around your area and see who the fence companies are who have done work out there. Better to hire somone who works that area. Most of these companies hang their tag on their work as advertising.
Think about a concrete footing, maybe 6-8 in deep and 4 in wide, depending on your soil and your dog. Have the galvanized poles set in the ground first, then pour the footing around them. They should run at least one rebar in the footing. Don't worry about covering it, just have them pour it level with the grade. Sam |

Our dog is an Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky mix. The amount of concrete I was not sure about, thanks for the suggestions. The reason I was wanting to bury it is my wife does not want to look at the concrete. She thinks that it may devalue the house when/if we decide to sell.
I may have a hookup, I found out yesterday that a guy I work with Son does fences for a living. I have to talk to him today to see what he can do. |
