Out of Hospital!

Hey Gang,

I finally got my total knee replacement on Wed. July 9th and came home over the weekend. Had my first "official rehab" today!

OUCH!

I'm going to be out of commission for the next 6-8 weeks and hopefully can make a meeting in either Oct or Nov. I'm hoping now that all my "clutch leg" pain will finally be gone and I can participate in club events soon.

Regards,

Terry

Stick with the PT. As much of a pain in the knee as it is, it will get you back ASAP.

Hang in there!

What he said. It will be noisier but the pain will be gone and you will soon
forget it bothered you. The only downside is going through airport security
checkpoints - but you will get used to that too. I had my left knee done
4 years ago - no clutch problems, still skydiving - you will be glad you did it.

Thanks for the encouragement!:)

I am a pretty good patient and am good at following directions!

However, I can't say that I haven't been folded, stapled or mutilated!

After I had my left achilles tendon repaired last year I learned where the word "patient" came from! Do your PT religiously and everything will turn out fine. Pain has not memory.

Thanks Ralph,

I just wish it would remember for about 10 minutes each day NOT to hurt!;)

Good to hear you are getting better.

I have had knee problems for the last twenty five years. It is no holiday for sure.

Started my 3rd week of therapy on Monday and things are starting to work again. I can walk on my own without a walker or cane. That's a good thing:D

Still have another 5 weeks of therapy left but if I keep making as good progress then should be able to get back into my Cobra then.

Regards to all,

Terry

Glad to see that your doing good. Hope to see you soon

The next 5 weeks will be over before you know it. I am coming up on my
four year anniversary on mine and I don't even think of it any more.

Trust me - the absence of pain is a good thing - no more waking up at night with a tooth ache in your knee!:)
