Update on next Cobra project

So I have an engine on order, waiting in the garage are the TKO600 and Quicktime, Wheels/Tires, 14" Wilwoods, EFI system (Powerjection).
Larry Goins has the chassis almost done, now waiting for the body.

On the JBL body, a popular mod was to widen and flare the rear fenders. Larry is updating the body mold to incorporate the wide (more correct) look as part of the new bodies he will be making. Good news is the production will soon move from Montana to Tulsa. Great proximity for a lot of us!

My body will come out of a mold made from this car:

Framing up the hole:

Ready for final sanding/painting:

So I hope to make it with the car to Tulsa Mid-America next summer, but failing that maybe have time for some more driving lessons/practice in time for rookie runs at RnG 2009.

Great news!

This is gonna be a fantastic car .. lot's of fancy tech stuff ;) I can't wait to come over and help you put it together. How much of it is already built when you get it? Are you buying a roller or what? I'm not sure I heard you say.

Sammy,

This will be a "Stage II" roller which means ready for final sanding and paint, less engine/tranny, less seats & carpet....and will need wiring as well.

I would have loved to build my own engine again, but wife and Dr. said no at the time ;-(
Hopefully I will get both the engine and car delivered by Thanksgiving, even though both vendor parties say mid-November....then I could get some "quality time" with them over the holidays.

Fyi

Sammy, this is the touring/street car that I am doing. Nothing fancy or trick here. Similiar to the JBL competion version, but more conventional suspension. Still a Hudgins creation, so handles very well!

congratulations. sounds like the midwest is going to be a hotbed of jbl activity.

i wonder if the flare molds are going to be available seperately as an add-on to previous builds?

Mark,

I would think once Larry has the mold, he could make up some pieces to sell that would work for a retrofit.

Thanks for the pictures and update John!

John,
Thanks for the pictures and update on the new ride. This really looks like quite an improvement over the old "fire breather":LOL:!
Let us know when things start to move into Texas because I want to see this new car when it gets here.
Congratulations, my friend
John Russell
