Gary, how much not installed, material only? I have to start saving money these days.

FUNFER2 02-25-2009 01:38 PM

Me too, just material.

Gary Morris 02-25-2009 02:38 PM

That would be $550.00 with you installing it. Let me know if I can help.

Does the ERA templates include the FIA model?

LuvDaBlues 02-25-2009 03:34 PM

Is the installation difficult? Or car a moderately talented guy install?

Texas-Saluki 02-25-2009 07:15 PM

it's a sticker... how hard can it be. I would assume you want the surface to be perfect before installation

SSSammy 02-25-2009 08:11 PM

Difficult!

I have done a few small sections on my Cobra. And I have had pros do my other cars. Technique is everything .. if you can do window film, you have the basic idea. But the Cobra is very voluptuous, as you know, there are compound curves on compound curves, and this stuff doesn't like to lie on curves. The Cobra film kits deal with this by having many pieces ...

Here's a tip .. pay Gary the extra $300 .. you'll be pleased, not pissed that you paid $550 for something that looks like crap. Of course if you're out of town .. buy the kit and take it to an installer :)

That would be a No on the Fia. I have watched him install it and I would even attempt it.

As a dealer I have watched the pro's do this many times.
A Spray bottle with soapy water.
A nice softish squeegy.
A heat gun.
If the cars used I would "Clay" the area's first then keeping it all wet with the soapy water, position the piece and then use the squeegy and heat gun to make it perfect!
Sounds real easy!!!
I would pay the extra to have someone else do it!
John:)

Just because you might be fairly good at installing window tint,it means nothing concerning this stuff.
Pay to have a Pro do it.

BRYCE 03-02-2009 04:10 PM

Thirteen different pieces, 2 full bottles of something wet and slimey, various small plastic squeegies and 5 1\2 hours is all it took,,,,,,,,,,,and that was done by a pro! Believe me have a pro do it!!!!!

Cobra #42 03-03-2009 03:07 PM

Had mine installed by a pro, I watched him apply a small piece, it is very, very hard to install on a Cobra. We have used three different companies on our track cars and all clear bra kits are not created equal. Do your research. db
