DFW Sponsored Dinner - Austin 2009

All,

Well some of you may have heard Stacey signed us up to take the collections and figure out what we want for dinner Friday night in Austin.... **)

So... since I like things easy... and automated

Please follow this link to the Texas Cobra Club site to make your donation to the Friday night dinner

http://www.txcobraclub.com/dfw-sponsored-dinner

Or hit the main site to log in first (will make it easier as it tracks for information)

http://www.txcobraclub.com

Also.... Please join the conversation on what we want to do at the site also (i.e not in this thread)

Look forward to a successful event

All,

Some updates to the Dallas friday plans. Stacey is still driving on me to help close our pledge gap.... just like NPR it is pledge week.

Stacey knows how to plan a good party, we just need to make sure she has the correct resources...

We are getting closer to our goal but still have a bit to go

Thanks

Need some $$

I'll be a little more frank ...

This will be my 3rd Spring Fling, and I have noted that the last two Friday dinners have been largely funded out of a few DFW member's generosity. What I mean is, although a number of us contributed in previous years, it really takes about $2000 to pull this off and the volunteer dinner organizers have had to make up the difference to the tune of several hundred $.

If you think about how many of us from DFW attend, then you'll know we need to toss an average of $100 in the kitty. We're not just paying for one dinner for us, we are also repaying in kind the generosity of our brothers and sisters in Austin and Houston who host the other nights.

For goodness sakes, let's not leave the Nolands holding the bag this year. It was so generous of Stacey and Chris to volunteer when the room went silent last month ... really! Thanks folks !!

Spring Meet

Just throwing something out. If the funds don't ramp up then why don't we do what we did a couple of years ago. The money was spent on the Rudy's Bar B Que...yuummmy!!! and then everyone brought a side dish and we had plenty. Just a thought.

Chris,

Thanks to you and Stacey for stepping up to plan this.

Like Sammy said...Please let us know ahead of time if the funds aren't going to cut it so we can help come up with a plan that does not fall on ya'lls shoulders.

John

Yeah, you could always have donation jars everywhere, maybe 'auction' rides in cobras, and email registered people where the donations stand and what the approx dollars needed are. Its always good to know where you stand.

On second thought there could be huge liability issues with selling rides.

Just a thought.......

I agree. I donated but this is my first year so I don't know the scale of things. How much do we have and how much do we need? The veterans may know but I have no idea how much it takes to host one of these partys.

I am in the same boat, heard about it, but have never been. I have registered and donated, but it is always good to know your 'exposure'. :)
