Trailer Parking - Austin Spring Meet 2009

Trailer/tow vehicle parking at this year's event will be handled by parking coordinators that will be present in the parking lot each day.

Please be courteous and heed the instructions of the parking corrdinators when arriving at the site for the event.

PARKING GUIDELINES:

Cobra's, GT-40's, Daytona's & Mustangs will be parked in a specific area - West side of lot - near IH 35 access road.

Big Rigs will be parked on the West side of lot - near IH 35 access road, also.

Enclosed trailers will be parked first & East of the Cobra parking.

Open trailers will be parked after the enclosed trailers.

DUE TO LIMITED PARKING SPACE & TOO PREVENT VEHICLE ACCESS PROBLEMS THROUGHOUT THE LOT - ALL TRAILERS must be dollied down/unhooked & tow vehicle parked as per the parking coordinators instructions.

We have analyzed the available parking at the site and it should be adequate, provided that parking is handled orderly and according to these guidelines.

NO spaces will be saved.........If you are traveling with or want to park next to someone in particular then you must arrive at the site at the same time.

PLEASE COOPERATE with these guidelines!!!!!

Hi Dee, thanks for all you have done. I dont want to cause problems but I do have a trailer question (so I can plan ahead). I plan to park my Cobra in the trailer each night so it can be locked and protected from the weather. My trailer is a cheap-o and I have no rear jacks and I would not trust the front jack with any weight so I need to be hooked to the truck to load and unload. Will there be an area where I can leave the truck and tailer connected so I can load every night without moving the truck or trailer. Thanks to my back problem (same if not worse than yours) I dont want to have to tie down the car each night to load. If the weather is nice I don't mind leaving it out but if there is a chance for rain I would like to be able to put it in the trailer. I am pretty flexable here so if I need to get in early or whatever just let me know.

Parking

John,

By unhooking the trailers, we should have enough room to manuever trucks in and out of the parking lot.

Should we have any of the 'unmentionable', I'm sure that we can accommodate and or help you load you car on your trailer.
If we don't have the 'unmentionable' problem everyone should be able to leave their cars in the parking lot.

We will have Hays County Sheriff deputies for security all night/each night.

As far as outside area parking there is a graded lot on the South side of the hotel..........provided we don't meet with any objections from the owners of the lot...............you could probably leave it hooked up and park there.

I suggest that we evaluate the situation when you get here.......we will help any way we can...........I KNOW about the back stuff!!!!!

Dee,

Thanks to you and the rest of the locals who are helping with the event.

We appreciate the heads up notice about the required disconnect between the trailer and tow vehicle in the parking lot.

With time to come up with a plan, we will work out the details of those of us with winches and other electrical accessories in the trailers that need power from the tow vehicle.

Thanks again for the hard work and the early notice.

Jody and Nancy Orsag

BTW...the trailer device that requires 12 volts is spelled W I N C H not W E N C H ...

Parking Questions???

To All,

We will have parking coordinators in the hotel parking lot starting Wednesday morning and each morning of the event after that to assist you with parking your rigs.

Roush #1 02-26-2009 08:04 PM

Wendell,

There are a couple of guys from Waco that are going up Wednesday morning so the initial trailer parking should be established by Wednesday afternoon.

They are pulling a two car enclosed trailer.

I will see you before noon on Thursday.

This trailer stuff sounds complicated. Glad I'm just driving. I'm sure I'll
be getting one sometime in the future when I can spend more time in Texas
but for now I'll just pray that we see no rain!:) 4 hours isn't bad anyway.

Rogelio 03-08-2009 04:39 PM

Im debating on driving also. Its only about 3 hours from Corpus.
Flip...4 hours from Oahu??? What kind of motor you got in that thing?:)

see yall there

Roy,

I'd need quite a snorkel too! I'll be flying the friendly skies of United to
get me to Houston, which is the closest airport to Montgomery. I plan on
taking the direct route on the country roads starting with 105 West to
get me there plus some sight seeing on the way. Looking forward to the
trip and praying for good weather while I'm at it.
