Houston Cobra Club Sat. 13th Meeting
The Houston Cobra Club is meeting this Sat. June 13th @ T-Bone Toms in Kema. Tony Jacobs suggested and several agreed this sounds like fun; Here is the info from the Houston Cobra Club site!
From: awwjacobs Subject: [Houstoncobraclub] Re: HCC Saturday the 13th To: Houstoncobraclub@yahoogroups.com Date: Monday, June 8, 2009, 8:23 AM More Info - I went to T-Bone Tom's yesterday for snack's...they have just built a "Palapas" (Palm Covered outdoor area) and it looks good. They open at 12 noon so we would be welcome to come at 11:30, and the parking is no issue, said it is fairly slow till 2-3 pm.... So I would like to try them and see if they are a keeper for future....I propose T-Bone Tom's at 11:30 Saturday...and if we want to "cruise" afterwards a trip down to Galveston to "The Spot" on the sea wall may be a Idea???? http://www.tbonetoms.com/ Come join us!! Larry,
Any thing going in early July (other than hot weather) around Houston? I ask because I will be returning to Texas for the first two weeks of July. I am up near Conroe but enjoy driving in Texas. Coming from Hawaii, no wonder - it's a whole different world! The weather screwed me for driving to San Marcos for the fling, but I am sure it will be warmer and drier now. |

I am sure we will do something the second sat. in July. The HCC is a very active and fun group. If nothing is scheduled while you are here just let me know and I would be able to get a smaller group together for a cruise. If you leave Conroe on 105 going west and take the first light in Montgomery going north you have a beautiful 45 mile drive thru the national forest with some nice twisties. Be carefull on weekends because the Motorcycle guys know about it also and our pipes really get there attention when you pass. (do not ask me how i know this):) Look forward to meeting you Larry Boatner |
Larry,
Thanks for the reply, and you are right about the National Park run. I took my son and wife on it and the bikes are there but haven't gotten in my way - yet. My house is near Lake Conroe about 4 miles from Montgomery so those are the roads I have been exploring to date. Much better than anything Hawaii has to offer! |

I will post a couple of pictures from the meet today. Please realize that it in no way shows how hot it was.
We had 11 Cobras and 2 Ford GT's show up even besides the weather. I think Heat Index this pm was around 105. We ate lunch and then 8 of us took a cruise down to Galveston for ICE CREAM!!! Our best decision of the day. The white car is a 1986 AC and owned by Tomy Hamon who was the owner at that time of a new car dealership in Houston and went to the factory to see it built. Neat car with under car exhaust. Larry Boatner |
