Dimensions of original Sunburst wheels
Hello. This is my first post on this forum. I have been a big Shelby fan for many decades. I even went as far as to build, from scratch, a Daytona Coupe that I designed about 10 years ago. Not a model....a real drivable car. But now a days I settle for scratch building scale models of cars because I guess age just caught up with me.
I stumbled across this fourum while researching some information for a model I am scratch building. I am trying to find two dimensions for the original sunburst wheels that came on the 427 Cobras. The dimensions I need are: 1) The diameter of the shaft that the spinner screws onto 2) The backspacing on the original 7.5 by 15 inch sunburst wheels I have tried to find this info in the forum but I have not been able to differentiate between numbers for original wheels and numbers for wheels to work on different kit car setups. Any help sure would be appreciated. Thanks |
1) The spinner threads are 2.375"-8tpi
2) Backspacing is 3.1" (+/- .1") |
