Cheeze boys, you guys coulda had mine with BB's for a little less than $11K.;)
Not as 'original' as seller says with Black Imron centers. You'd need a jackhammer to get that off. They use it on boat hulls and aircraft.

You know I just noticed something. The seller of the wheels is the shop where they installed my engine and tranny and performed a few upgrades. Top notch operation.
Those wheels would be styling on a 289 car.

DCM, or Dichloromethane (methylene chloride) will remove it with little trouble (just in case you're ever on Jeopardy! and that question comes up).

I used to use nitromethane to strip paints and primers. What would MEC do to magnesium though Mr. Wizard?:JEKYLHYDE

It would be no different than on other metals.... I think you know that.

I'm not normally a big fan of black paint on wheel centers, but I think I can forgive and forget if the wheels in question were Torq Thrust wheels.
The sale of these wheels must be funding the restoration of CSX2192 at seller's shop. I'd keep them, but then I do like to keep lots of wheels on hand.

Well I know that freakin' humidity corrodes magnesium. And that's different than other metals.:(
On a structural metal like a wheel, I wouldn't be putting MEC on them.

Then I would refer you to Magnesium and Magnesium Alloys by Avedesian and Baker, an authoritative text in which they discuss that very issue on page 140... and, of course, you're wrong.
Magnesium and Magnesium Alloys - M. M. Avedesian, Hugh Baker - Google Books

Hatred is obviously a strong motivator.
Being wrong would still prohibit me from recommending that Imron be removed from mag in that manner.
Especially what mags cost now...

You're getting slow. Just three years ago you would have smelled that setup coming with my first post, and then not made it so easy.
