Pressure range for classic Good Year Eagle #1

Hi folks,
I read all kinds of pressure ranges for classic 15" Eagles.
Does someone knows about a recommended pressure for street usage? What tire temperature should be targeted on track?

Thanks :)

BTW these are Goodyear Eagle Billboards and Blue Streaks vintage tires.
I believe mine are Billboards.

Luke,
I am by no means an expert on this but from my investigation and experience it's not a single temperature, but rather the temperature difference at the inside, middle and outside of the tires at each corner that will help determine the proper tire pressure.

Oversimplified, higher temperature in the middle of the tires means they are overinflated.

A tire pyrometer is needed and the most accurate results are obtained immediately after some hot laps.

For what it's worth, the best pressures for my car at the track are in the 18 - 19 lb range.

Thanks Dallas,
Yes I totally agree with you and what I meant was to get a starting point. I've never worked with vintage tires and always had charts with track tires to optimize setup and pressure fairly quickly.
I have intuitively set the pressure to 28 lbs for street (1.9 bars) and will then start with 19 when the car is tracked.

Are you using these same rubbers though?

Thanks for the info.
Luke

No, I have different tires and rims so my numbers may be significantly different than yours.
