Tire browning

I've got some tire browning going on - not on my Cobra tires, but on my deep tread truck tires.

Excuse me for posting this here, but it's about tires.

So, what's the best method, product, etc. to at least temporarily eliminate the browning and what's the best method, product to keep it from coming back - at least for an extended period of time?

I've been told that browning is a normal process as tires are exposed to the sun, etc. but it looks really bad.

Your correct in that its normal. Just a additive that seeps out the side walls to protect against UV and cracking.

Elbow grease, stiff scrub brush with Simple Green, 409, etc... will remove it.
It will come back however.

I like 303 Aerospace Protectant, has a good UV shield, doesn't sling, more of a mat finish and no silicone or oil that can harm the rubber like some of the glossy ones. Rule of thumb usually is if it feels like Baby oil steer clear of it.

I was at the paint store last year and the guy gave me some stuff called Wizard's Tire and Vinyl shine. It makes the brown disappear and unless you scrub the tires, it does not reappear.

I tried scrubbing my tired. Good luck. You almost need to take sandpaper to them.

X2 on the 303.

Browning can also be the result of extended use of tire shine. If you decide you want shiny tires on you next set use Pledge instead of the typical tire shine product. Unlike automotive tire shine Pledge will not remove the plastisizers from the rubber but rather adds a topcoat that doesn’t sling guck all over the car. The previous post referencing the use of a degreaser is spot on.

This product works extremely well, I use it on equipment tires and my truck. In fact the entire Adam's line of products work well.
