Avon cz66

Hi,
Can someone tell me how many miles these tires last in road use?
Thanks

BLemming:

You should be able to get 6000-8000 miles out of them on the road, if you avoid massive burnouts. Proper tire pressures are critical to keep the wear even across the tread surface. My front tires usually last a bit longer than the rears...

We know of customers who have gotten as much as 14,000+ miles on them, no track days and reasonable street driving.

Look at it this way, how many miles do you drive the Cobra per year? Divide the Avon cost by six so long as you are 2000 per year. Figure that as your annual cost of tires. I would not keep them on more than six years due to aging and durometer hardness increase due to age and ozone. So if you drive more than 2000 miles per year adjust the calculation. Regardless, you come up with a few hundred dollars per year for the best available street LEGAL tires and the performance and safety they bring to the party. Your annual cost will be in the $300-400 range, a figure that you can budget. If you drive a high performance car you need high performance tires. That simple.

Hi all, Thanks for the comments.

I post this question because of the racing tires and I had no idea of how many miles can be ridden on the street with it.

I drive about 6000 miles a year so i have to replace a set of rear tires per year and a set of front tires every two years?

Hi Mark IV,
At this moment i have 17” Wheels with verry sticky tires.
But for my next project I would like 15” wheels because of the old scool look.
I don’t want cheap tires as i do wan’t performance

You have brought up an interesting question. If Wanting performance a requirement, are 17 " tires better than 15" tires? Regardless of cost, which performs better is my question. Did not mean to hijack but it seems the answer could make a difference. I do not have enough hands on knowledge to determine.

I have 6K on mine in 2.5 yrs and they are probably good for another 5K.

I currently have almost 13K miles on my Avons and expect at least a few thousand more miles out of them if not more. I have not done any track days, rarely do burnouts but do drive rather aggressively at times.
