4 lugs to 5 lugs

I'm new to the group & just started researching to buy a Cobra. I've seen some with 4 lug wheels, which are probably from the donor mustangs which were made with 4 lugs in the late 80s.

What good & bad of having 4 lugs on your wheels?
Is it looked at as a bad thing, less valuable?
What would it take to change the wheels over to 5 lugs?

Thank you

To go from 4 lug rear Fox mustang axles to 5 lug you need 83-92 Ford Ranger long axles. I think they are 29 1/16" long. Mustang II front end use Granada rotor, Fox front end you need 94-95 spindles.

Hi PNW1, the Cobras you may be thinking about are FFR Mk.1 or 1.5. Those were mostly fox body (Motor, trans, sup, brakes, etc) donor cars. Changing over to 5-lug is pretty straight forward, as it is just the fox body 4-lug to 5-lug Mustang hubs. Finding 4-lug Cobra wheels are VERY hard to find now-a-days. We have a club member here in the northwest that has nightmares about one of his 4-lug wheels getting damaged. If you would like to reach out to me, I may be able to help find that just right Cobra for you ;) I know of a very nice B&B that's down by you (Vancouver correct?) PM me again, and I'll get you my # Cheers TommyRot. HI JIM!!
