Tire letter spots
 
I added treadware letters to my MT S/R and soon after brown spots began to seep through the letters, I am now having to switch the tires around and considering putting the letters side inward, because they are just too much maintenance, in the pictures I scrubbed them with different cleaners and the spots remain and darken in just a few days. A little bleach and water works best if the letters aren't darkened on purpose for the authentic look, I've seen them sold new with the patina look.

If they didn't come that way try a little bleech and water mix.

The spots are caused by the mold release agent bleeding through the letters. You will not be able to get rid of it by cleaning. The tires needed to be properly prepared by shaving the tire down past the rubber that has the release agent in it, then applying the letters. It is not an easy process to do correctly, you could spend a couple of hours or more shaving one tire but you will not get any bleed through.

Leave them. They are not supposed to all shiny and white. You are trying to emulate true eagles and if you look at those, they get all grubby too.

Will the mold release eventually evaperate with time? Then put the letters on?

Nope, it is very hard to get off without shaving the tires.

Don’t clean them then and they’ll look like any other patinated tire, they all start off new looking at the beginning of their life anyways.

There are a lot of ways to make something “look fake”, if you get my drift.

Mine have darkened after 3 years of applying 303 preservative. I still have people say they like the tires, a lot.

I have found lacquer thinner works real well cleaning the bleed through on white letter tires. A bit tedious to scrub each letter but it works.

Another option is let just 'em bleed.

Please excuse the non-Cobra pic, but this is my BOSS 302. I painted stencil lettering on the tires and let them weather. Looks nice if you like the "I drive it hard" look. You can scrub the paint off and repaint when they get too nasty looking.
