Slabside Wire Wheels
Finally starting the Slabside kit project and have decided on wire wheels in the painted gray, not chrome, and am looking for sources to compare. Any suggestions will be considered and appreciated.

You could get the chrome wheels powder coated the correct color silver, it would be far more durable. I’ve done it before.

Dayton Wire Wheels part #D464 is the spline-drive wheel that replaces the original Dunlops. This is what Shelby and Superformance use in the 15"x6" 289 applications. Dayton also has a 5" and 5.5" "lip-lace" wheel for the earlier 260 cars.

I believe that is exactly what Zach did for his in the pics, John.

Original painted wheels would be silver, not gray.

Beware, not all silvers are the same! Most powder coatings will be far to bright and shinny. Here is the correct hue: https://www.holden.co.uk/p/sliver-pa...-and-bristol-1 The AC owners group states that, RAL 9006 ( white aluminium ) is the correct color. Remember, chrome was an option from the first AC Ace to the last AC 289 Sport! Cheers, Dennis
