is aanyone ridding on these tires (what sizes) and your opion of them
|
I have a set that I have driven about 500 miles and I love them! Only spirited street miles so far but they handle very well, are not skitterish and more forgiving of road imperfections than the 17" BFG's that I had before!
The sizes I have are: Front - LT 26 X 10R15 (Summit part # MTT-6653) Rear - LT 26 X 12R15 (Summit part # MTT-6654) Go to my Gallery and you can view some photos!! |
Saltshaker - Do a search and you'll also find a bunch of threads on the MT tires and sizes. People seem to love them.

I run 325.50.15s on the rear and I like them a lot. They've been good on the street and once heated, hook up nicely on the strip. (1.6 sixty foot times) I've got close to 5000 miles on mine and should get a few more thousand out of them, unless I start going to the strip more often.

Mt/sr
Sure like mine. Still playing with the presure. Stick well and not afraid to get into the throttle on a turn now. At 24 lbs now and lowering. 15" tires. Go to discount tire. They matched summits prices on tires and thru in freight. Would not give me road hazard tho, go figure.

As for those MTs... I sure wish those were a tad taller. I see they show a 26.1" diameter. On my car, works for the front but having at least 26.5" to 26.7" in the rear would be ideal. But, those might just be the only new 15" game in town though... interesting. Would have to see and try a set on my car. I had not seen those before until now.
I wonder, are they smooth, and do they balance out pretty well, with no steering wheel shake say at 65mph? |
I have 5000 miles on my M/T's and love them. They grip very well on tight turns and hookup when heated. The flame tread is very cool and they give the car a "meaty tire look" from the sixties. My tires still look like new...maybe because I don't do many burn-outs or race the car.
What's not to like, Bill |
28 10 15 front, 22 psi
28 12 15 rear, 20 psi Love 'em. Most of the time, it's like driving on velcro and they give you plenty of notice when that's going to change. |

Vanoochka, 28" diameter, seriously?, wow. I was thinking they only came in 26, or you guys were all trying the 26s. So, I just looked it up and saw them. Kind of opens some new doors. Those would fill the wheel well nicely. I did not see any pics in your gallery. source pictures: http://www.indyautoparts.org/store/products.asp?cat=436 Got any new photos you can share with these 28" diameter tires on your Cobra? |

Sorry, I only have one and it's not great. I'll be back in San Jose on the 21st and will take a few shots from a better angle and post them, then. BTW, my car measures 27" to the center of each wheel well. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...g?t=1226357395 Chuck |
