September Cruise to Grand Lake

I volunteered for the first cruise and I decided to head up to Grand Lake for a Saturday. Thinking of leaving around 9:00 and driving up to Monkey Island for lunch and then returning back in the afternoon. If any of you have a preferred weekend let me know asap because my thoughts now are either the second or third weekend in September.

At lunch we can determine who wants to volunteer for setting up a cruise in October, November, etc. However, I think Brad Wilkins wants to bring us to his neck of the woods for a cruise up Talamena drive in the winding stair mountains for the Fall Foilage.

Start planning on the second or third weekend in September for our cruise.

C'mon, anybody else interested?????%/ Lets hear from you.

I'm also in for the Talamena drive in the fall. We can discuss that at lunch like you said.

Anybody up for Back Yard Burgers Tuesday 7/24? Marty & I plan on being there.

Where were you slackers this week?

SE Kansas, NW Arkansas, SW Missouri owners

I think it would be great if any of the other four corner guys could join us for lunch at Monkey Island in September. We would definitly wake up the boat captains plus it would give all a chance to get acquainted.

Mine is in primer this week. If I can get him to finish the paint so I can get it home and complete the car I am absolutely up for September and other trips. I was out of town this past Tuesday. I will make it on the 24th.

Well you know I am going so who else intends to go?

By the way Bob Beasley brought his Cobra with his NEW PAINT JOB over Monday night and it is absoulutely beautiful. I think he must have pushed on the loud pedal to hard when he took off :).

Clois

I'm anxious to see Bob's, what color is it?

I'm taking mine to Dino's tomorrow morning to get wheels and tires for it. Hopefully I'll get the title this week & get the interior finished this month.

Grand Lake Cruise

Just a reminder for those that are planning on making the cruise to Grand Lake this Saturday (September 22, 2007). Plans are still to leave from the parking lot of the Quik Trip near the Casino and I-44 (161st East and I-44--I think) at 9:30 am. We will try and leave promptly by 9:45 to allow for any straglers.

This could be a big group depending on who actually shows up. Since this is our first cruise I hope someone is thinking about the next event.

Clois, I won't be able to make it, I've been spending a lot of time trying to finish my Cobra.

Saturday, Marty & I have to do some mods on the rear panel of the interior to ensure a good fit of the seats I have for it. Need to have this done Saturday so the interior can start going in hopefully next week.

Probably won't be any long cruises for me this year as I want to "ring out" the car before I take it on any long trips. I'll be doing short cruises around the local area until I know I can trust the car.

Still didn't get the title, it's been 7 weeks now since I turned in the paperwork!

Thanks for organizing this cruise, hopefully you'll have a good turn out for it & be sure to take some pictures.

See ya,
Randy

Not a problem!

Hey Randy, Sounds like your almost on the road. What mods on the rear panel did you do and did it give you more room beind the seats?

Darren

Yep, I'm getting closer every day! :D

I'm using different seats than the kit calls for, they look better & will have more cushion to them. The seats also tilt back a little. It doesn't give me any more room behind these seats, but if you use the regular Cobra style seats & do this, it should free up some room.

We had to cut some out of the lower corners of the rear panel to move the seats back a little for the better fit. All we need to do now is finish molding the new pieces in & its then ready to be upholstered. I can send you a picture if you want.

I only have to do this because I'm not using the basic Cobra "bucket" seats.

See ya,
Randy

Thanks Randy, I was considering doing the same for a little more room behind
the seats.
