Mirrors???
Alright guys...
Trying to pick some side mirrors (left and right) for the Cobra. I'm torn... I like the Raydots (mount to the windshield frame) because IMO they look a little bit more racey. Plus I think they would offer a bit more field of view because they are closer. But the bullet mirrors (mounted to the body) look more period correct. The Raydot setup is a little more pricey, but that's not a factor. Which ones did you guys pick and why? |
As you know, I have the bullet mirrors (mounted on the body), I think they look better than the ones mounted on the windshield frame. Although, the windshield mounted mirrors probably give you a better view of whats happening behind you.

How do you're work? Are they effective? Also, did you get the flat or convex mounts?
|
I have both, or I have HAD both. The Raydots give you better rear view vision and the bullets are a little more stylish. I made my own brackets for the Raydots in fact I may have an extra one here at the house. I have a couple bullet mirrors and I think one is brand new and still in the box.

don't want to step on clois but I have 2 new bullets that i did not use, will sell cheap

thanks for the offer! However, after talking to several of these guys.. they all pretty much said the same thing. The Bullet mirrors are more for looks than functional. So I decided to go with the windshield mounted raydots .

I looked this weekend and I only have the one chrome mirror left and it has some scratches on it. I am using the Raydot mirrors myself. I would email trctrdrvr (Mike?) have him send those to me if I were you.

I have the Bullet style mirrors on the Mustang. Virtually useless.

For the umpteenth freeking time...
Raydyots Raydyots ARE period correct. Once you drill the holes for the bullets...you will have them forever. The frame mount provides a better field of view over the rear fender. The convex (if they are true Raydyot convex and not some substituted Pep Boys convex) are slightly tinted and work great for the middle mirror...especially at night (I have no problems with car lights behind me). The Buckley Mirror Mount is the best ever made. The mfg of them is a bit of a unusual character who makes them only when he damn well feels like it, and he hasn't felt like it in quite awhile. You will end up with second best no matter what... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...oto-402_sm.jpg |
Yep. I ordered the Raydots this morning.
Thanks for all the input everyone! I've never had such an indecision on mirror in my life! ;) |
