Chili Festival Car Show 9/6/08
I've been going to this one a few years now, it's always a good time! This'll be the first time the Cobra is entered in it. :D
Lots of great chili, adult beverages, live music, nice cars and crafts for the ladies. They also have rodeo events going on during the festival. I think it costs about $15.00 to enter your car in the show. You can go to the Claremore Chamber of Commerce website & download a registration form or I have one I can make copies of. Bluegrass & Chili Festival September 6, 2008 Claremore Expo Center Registration 8-12 trophies at 5:00 Contact: Claremore Chamber of Commerce for registration Anyone interested? I know Marty, Eric, Wayne & I are planning on being there. Randy |
I might drive out for the Chili Festival but I don't do car shows. Bob Meyer was in the Jenks car show this weekend I went out to see him. He has a beautiful car in every way. I looked for you this weekend. I talked to Mark Wheatley who owns a 289 FIA Original #2473 and he said he and his brother might be interested in doing some cruises this fall and they may be at the Trinity Restoration OCC open house this weekend.
Let me know if you are going and we can wait for you. Clois |
Clois, Yep, I know you don't do shows, no problem. Hope to see you there though.
Did Bob like the show, I know he said he didn't know what to expect by entering it in the show. Saturday night I went to the Owasso cruise with Marty & Wayne. There were about 12 cars there, we had a good time & met some good people. They're hoping this thing grows so I want to help them out by participating & getting the word out. I won't be going to the Trinity event, got some honey-do's during the day, but maybe after the Trinity event, you guys can cruise up to the IHOP in Owasso about 6:00? Marty, Wayne, Eric and another guy with a Cobra will probably be there. A few weeks ago it looked a like we'd have a good club showing but we got rained out, maybe this Saturday or next Saturday (8/30) we can make that happen. Would Mark Wheatley be interested in joining our club? Wow, an original 289 FIA, must be nice! I was thinking about a fall cruise up Rt. 11 to Woolaroc then through Bartlesville and down 75 to Tulsa or go down 69 to Pryor, then through Claremore & back to Tulsa. Randy |
Both the fia cars were very nice. Not trailer queens.. you could tell those things were driven. It looked like the just got off the track and the year was 1966. Which I think is pretty cool.
When they left there was the sweet smell of race fuel too... too cool. |
