What is needed?
Hello,
My Cobra currently has a small block Chevy and I am going to change it to probably a 351W. I have a T56 MN12 trans in it currently with a Lakewood blowproof housing and an external hydraulic master/slave set-up. My question is what would I need to change on the trans to get it mounted to the 351W? Can I just do a bellhousing/flywheel/clutch swap or do I need to change the trans input shaft, or maybe a new trans altogether? Needless to say, I am trying to keep costs down a bit. Thanks! |
Bellhousing & flywheel for sure. Clutch will depend on a # of factors.
1] which 6spd do you have? 012 models came 10 spline but you can change the input to 26 spline if needed. And you can get that in GM flavor. 2] A new t56 would be $2795.00. It would be the Magnum as Tremec is no longer offering 012 t56s give us a call we can help you out Steve |
I thought all MN12 came with a 26 spline as they were only used in GTO's and Corvettes?
I was at Goodguys and talked to a Quicktime dealer. He said he can fix me up no problem. Thanks! |
Hi joyridin,
I see you refering to a MN12 T-56. I'm not aware of a MN12. Do you have a tag number? How about pictures if the front & rear and shifter? I can most likely identify your tranny with a little more info. I'm a WD for Quick Time and have lots of inventory and will do my best to get this T-56 installed with all the correct parts. |
