Speedometer Gear

I've got a T5 with an Autometer tach. My speed is around 10 mph slow. Can anyone tell me what gear # should be on the cable? The one I have has LDM on the top and R 20 on the side near the attachment pin.

What rear end ratio, rear tire diameter and overdrive ratio do you have.

Most speedos are set at the factory @ 1000 rpm and they can be recalibrated
to other RPM's . I just went through this drill with my Tiger that also has a T5
with 3:08 rear gears and 16" tires.
You need to mark off 52' 9.5" very carefully on the ground and roll the car
thru the marks while watching the end of the speedo cable so you can count the RPM's and keeping track of the partial turn at the end. My Tiger came out with exactly 9 turns. You multiply that number by 100 and you get the RPM
that the speedo needs to be calibrated too. The Tiger was 900 rpm and is now accurate to 2% over 25 miles. With the T5 you would need to change
the cable gear as well as the output shaft gear which is a pain.......
