tko 600 stuck in gear

My car developed a problem the end of last season the shift would get stuck in gear. We took the shift out and aligned the spring loaded rods and then the stick would work again and then after a day of driving it would get stuck in gear again . I also noticed the stick felt a little sloppy and would move too easy. Any help would be appreciate I only have 7000 miles on the transmission and purchased it from Mike Forte in 2006.

Am I understanding that you removed the top plate, aligned the shift dogs so the car was in neutral, that fixed the problem and everything worked well for a while, and then it got stuck again? If so, then you will need to pull the transmission and take it to a competent rebuilder. Tremecs break keys/sliders/forks and the result is that you get stuck and have to screwdriver it in to neutral. Your TKO weighs about a hundred pounds, so you and a friend can literally "hand deliver" it to a trusted Tremec-knowledgable rebuilder who will fix it for a not too terribly high sum. You might as well change out the clutch, pp, tob, and pilot while you're in there.

Not to be flippant, but there is something broken in your transmission. The cost to rebuild a TKO600 with a "stuck in gear" problem, when you deliver the transmission to the rebuilder is going to be, roughly, about, near or so to, maybe $600. Now you might consider some of the TKO "upgrades" that some shops offer, like the American Powertrain's 600Xtreme Upgrade that I've read about, but have no personal experience. A lot of shops upgrade the forks, gears, shafts, etc. with "higher quality" parts, freeze them so they're extra strong, etc. Again, I have no personal experience with doing that sort of thing, I've just read about it. This is not a huge problem, but it will require you to pull the transmission and take it to somebody.

OK thanks
