top loader shifter linkage
I think a found a toploader but it doesn't have linkage.
What should I look for for a Cobra. I didn't know there were so many different variations. Dang .. they say just the linkage is 4 to 500 bucks..

Do you know what overall length toploader you are buying, or it's tailhousing number? Mounting points vary on the different tail housings and depending on where you want the shifter lever to come out on the tunnel (427 style or 289 style) the mounting plate and rod lengths may change. I like my Hurst shifter with Ford shift lever. It's very smooth. Because of the different variations, buying from someone like David Kees can simplify things. ERA also carries a complete line of shifters, rods, plates, and shift levers but I'm not sure what their policy is on selling to non-ERA owners.

I second the Bill Heeley suggestion. I bought the whole shebang from him, and I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I'm sure it wasn't $500.
